So in the bus I entered yesterday, nearly all the men inside were bullying this woman. What did she do, you may ask? She told the conductor that she wanted to give someone something and he should please wait. The conductor said she should tell the person to come outside. She said the person was already there and she described where he said he was. When we got there,the driver parked by the side.We waited for a little over a minute and we didn’t see this person.Normally,everyone was already getting impatient,including myself. The conductor was like, "Ahn ahn, where the person dey?"He came down and started scanning the whole place with his eyes.The woman did too,but we didn't see him.She called him and he said he was there.That's when she finally saw him.He had been there the whole time. The road had six lanes in total, three on both sides.We were on the second lane and the man was at the pedestrian walk.A bus had just stopped in front of him to drop off a passenger, and when the bus moved, that's when the woman saw him and called him.He said he thought we would be in that lane. The woman apologized for the delay. Before we saw the man she was waiting for,there was one man seated in front of me and behind her who was already shouting at the driver and telling him to go. When the woman was handing the stuff to the driver, the man said out loud,"You wan collect something from person,see where you go stand." How did he expect him to know?? Besides,if the bus wasn’t full, that’s the lane we'd be in because that's the one closest to the pedestrian walk. The woman said,"Ehn ehn,please don't insult him." The bus started moving again and the man started insulting this woman,saying she wasted his time and everybody's time.The woman apologized. She said,"Oga why you dey talk like that?Even if na you be the driver, you for understand wait too." The man still took it personal and continued shouting at her and adding insults too, talmbout, "You've wasted my time,do you know where I'm coming from?" Me, I understand people have emergencies and I also understand I could be in that woman's situation too and honestly, it wasn't a big deal. When the woman saw the man didn't want to stop, she said, "Please keep quiet." Just that word alone got the man super mad and the first thing he said was, "You no get husband for house, that's why you don’t have respect for a man, telling a man to shut up." As how?? Omo I didn't want to say anything but guess what? Almost all the men in the vehicle took the fight from the man's hand and started shouting at this woman, saying she's disrespectful, you don't talk to a man like that. I couldn't believe my eyes and eyes all of a sudden,my mouth betrayed me.I said to the man, "Sir, you are wrong and you are taking it too far. Yes, she delayed us a bit. We were all delayed and I won't say I wasn't annoyed, but sometimes understand that you might be in that position too." Everyone in the bus stopped to look at me, even the conductor that had his head outside the vehicle, obviously trying to get some fresh air after his failed attempt to get the man to calm down. The man said, "Did you not hear when she told me to shut up?" I said I heard that and yes sir, please do. All the men wanted to start with me too."You're supporting her because she's a woman, you people don't have respect." One young guy in the vehicle said, "If she was my mother, I'll caution her too because you don't talk to a man like that." The woman then said something like," I pity your mother 😭😭." The men were trying to remind me what happened like I wasn't in the vehicle too witnessing it all. I just kept repeating, You're wrong sir, all of you are wrong, you guys are wrong. Sir, you're very wrong for that statement. She can talk to you however she likes because you disrespected her first.And what's the thing about always saying you no get husband for house,you no go see husband marry?"Lmao. The whole bus went quiet 😭.
