Crazy stuff. There's something missing here. The missing thing is the lights in the West Tower of Deansgate Square in Manchester, where there are three hundred and fifty flats, or call them apartments if you will, and there's no electricity. There's no power. The lifts, are on a different supply, but people there will have to go to sleep in the dark and wake up without a cup of tea. Or residents have been offered a £120 for accommodation tonight and £40 for food and drink expenses. It looks like the power will be out for four days as a new part has to be manufactured. This is not good in an apartment block that opened to residents in 2019. What went wrong with the power supply? Why has it failed? Lots of questions residents will want answered.

@TheGMTM Haha I only know this as I was heading to Manchester Airport for a flight and got caught up in the overrun mess. 😂 I had to dash to catch first one from New Mills Newtown as all the ones from Central were Canx. That train was running 15L which caused the knock on effect.

The 0648 @northernassist to BPN was held at MCO for 15-mins this morning to let a @TPEassist train through that was only +4 late. The 0704 TPE MIA-GLC only started at PRE today, meaning all Manchester passengers lost any chance to board the 0801 at Preston. All due to overruns.

@TheGMTM I can explain this one! 😂 It's a Buxton driver who takes it from Oxford Rd to Blackpool. He was caught up in the overrunning works at Stockport this morning, and missed that train at Piccadilly which he was pass on so had to get the TPE to Occy Rd to pick up the service.

Now got @TPEassist staff having to get @northernassist towards Manchester, as it’s now the *third night in a row* that TPE haven’t ran the peak WCML Glasgow Central service beyond Preston to Manchester Airport. Delay/repay doesn’t even cut it.

@BeeNetwork @levineg Complete and utter BS, they’ve all been double since 30th March. Do not believe a single word they say about not having any trams when they’ve reduced the service so much. Absolute lies to cut cost at the price of passenger comfort. Shall we just stop paying then?

It’s also @ManUtd U21s vs. Real Madrid, so what are you playing at @BeeNetwork? Very odd to reduce the frequency on a line that’s close to full capacity when only running to Deansgate, extend it to Crumpsall to reach more passengers, and still only run singles ⁉️

FYI @BeeNetwork, trams from the Traff Ctr are completely full by Trafford Palazzo, the second stop, with it being half-term and the frequency being reduced. Surprising, really- that reducing the frequency, lengthening the line, and making it more popular would have that effect

@BeeNetwork can you explain how 2 trams just disappear from running? Waiting for a tram on Ashton line towards Manchester and it showed one due in 9 mins, get to the stop and no sign of it, next one showing due then in 7 mins now that’s disappeared and next one due in 18 mins

Note here that this EMR service 15.51 Liverpool Lime Street to Norwich is missing out Manchester Oxford Road and Manchester Piccadilly due to “overcrowding”. What a way to run a railway in the year “2026.

@John_The_Fitter @EastMidRailway Couldn’t agree more, John. The Lime St TPE isn’t always a viable alternative either, and is regularly only a 3-car 185 as you probably know. About time EMR explored new regional units, can’t keep pulling the dregs of what 158s and 170s are left in the country!

@TheGMTM @EastMidRailway Exactly. What a shambles. You are right about that EMR service, a 2 car Class 158 serving the biggest “city” in the North. It must have been absolute “Chaos” at Manchester Oxford Road and Manchester Piccadilly yesterday with an “overcrowded” (1L15) 15.51 Liverpool to Norwich.
