If ever there was a picture that boiled my piss it is this. Two Muslim police officers illegally arresting a white British bloke for blasphemy against Islam. A law that doesn’t exist in this country. What a bloody disgrace this country and this government is.

@erniewiseswig @SpeechUnion He would of had the opportunity to have legal consultation the entire time he was in police custody and before his appearance at court. So no conviction is getting overturned for that I'm afraid.

@SpeechUnion Not just that, why was the trial so quick? How could he possibly be given enough time to obtain legal advice? This should be grounds enough alone to have his conviction quashed.

🚨 BREAKING: The FSU has written to Greater Manchester Police (GMP) demanding answers after they recklessly exposed Martin Frost’s identity — putting his safety at risk. In our letter, FSU General Secretary Toby Young warns that demonstrations involving damage to a Koran have provoked serious violence before. Just last week, Iraqi activist Salwan Momika was murdered in Sweden after burning one. In this country, the preacher Hatun Tash — a former Muslim who has damaged the Koran in public demonstrations — has been targeted in multiple incidents, including a plot to shoot her and a stabbing attack. This is to say nothing of other, similar cases of anti-blasphemy extremism, like the March 2021 Batley Grammar School incident, or the murder of Ahmadi shopkeeper Asad Shah for showing “disrespect” to Islam. Burning a Koran should never be a police matter. But in this context, by charging Frost and publicising his details, GMP may have placed him in grave danger. We have demanded: 📌 Assurances that GMP will take urgent steps to protect him. 📌 An explanation for why his personal details were publicised. Meanwhile in the UK Greater Manchester Police have just decided to fully identify a person who also burned a book. They (the people we pay to keep society safe) have deliberately painted a target on his back. It is mind boggling

@TheWarsmith @Citizen_O_World @SpeechUnion I suppose it depends on the charges and obviously if someone pleads guilty at the first opportunity then that's the fastest route. There is I think a 6 month window from the time of the offence for them to charge a suspect.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have publicly named a man and disclosed his street address and local area after he was charged with allegedly burning pages of the Quran — despite the clear and immediate risks posed to those accused of blasphemy by radical Islamists. The 47-year-old man has today pleaded guilty to causing racially and religiously aggravated intentional harassment, alarm, and distress after setting fire to the Islamic holy book in Manchester city centre, during a livestream on social media. Given the well-documented dangers faced by those accused of blasphemy, the FSU believes GMP should have liaised with the CPS before making these personal details public. I once hosted 3 Student Nurses at the nick who were doing a research project on the cops. They were quite arsey about how "crap" we were. The map of my subdivision was on the wall, and I asked them to guess how many cops were currently on duty. See next tweet

@AmbroseBarnaby Due to your parents ages, it's likely a care plan will be going in (or should be). If they feel they need some support getting over it then they should be mentioning that to the oic and in the victims personal statement how much it's had an effect.

@TheWarsmith I don’t know the full one and outs of that. But I know one thing my dad was screaming when they rolled the money and no one came to help shouting for help They will no doubt be dealing with it more when they get back but it’s a horrible horrible situation

I’ve lost all faith in the police in this country how they’ve treated my parents after my Dad was robbed in Richmond and had his wallet and £4,500 stolen they’ve done nothing for three weeks even though the CCTV is available in WH Smith an officer was very rude to my Mum too

@AmbroseBarnaby Have other things been done? Such as asking your father how he wants to proceed? Statement taken? Asked about witnesses? Or was this the first time any officer has made contact?

@TheWarsmith They are going to because the CCTV runs out next week it’s made then stressed as anything and it’s wholly not right The offer didn’t give a toss about my mum and for me that’s absolutely unforgivable

@AmbroseBarnaby It's not unusual for officers to be allocated crimes while on leave, in this case it's likely because it's classed as low risk and doesn't need to be actioned now. In regards to being rude. I can't comment because I wasn't there.

The Police offer in charge of the investigation was on leave all this time and when my Mum asked why this was the offer said “what so the police aren’t allowed to have leave then”. Honestly my Mum is almost 80 my Dads almost 80 they they’ve treated them like pieces of rubbish 😡

@PC_Angry Makes everyone wonder why security are employed, they aren't de escalating the person or protecting the public in store. Surely the @SIAQuality training covers all legal means of restraint

It says something about where our society is at when most people are fearful of taking action against vermin such as this because of the potential consequences.
