Ready to leave the house at 7.30. Have to get the bus to University as I don't trust BCC to grit the cycle paths. Walking takes 30 mins. Bus failures made it a 40 min journey. I've missed 2 trains and 2 connections. It will take me 1hr45 to do a 50 min trip. Should have walked.

So if you're feeling sick why not use the time to go back home, wait around, and then back to the pharmacy. Maybe you were thinking of working? Haha. No, you spent the morning trying to get an appointment, now you've got to waste more time getting the cure.

Children, now in the olden days the doctor would write a prescription and you could take it in your hand immediately to the local pharmacy. Today, through the miracle of technology, this has become an email of sorts that will take 2 hours to arrive.

Why is my train being delayed twice for speed restrictions on two separate defective bits of line? Are the railways falling apart?

The Northumberland Line was closed to passenger traffic in 1964, but reopened by Northumberland Council in 2024 in the face of much naysaying and defeatism. So far ridership has been *five times* higher than even the Council anticipated, an off-the-charts success. Does this suggest there might be other closed lines that would prove unexpectedly viable?
