New: I've published the geographical templates behind the UK cartogram maps shared here recently. There are four geopackage files for MSOAs, local authorities (both lower-tier and upper-tier), and constituencies. All on the @commonslibrary github here: github.com/houseofcommons…

@gracerowley Good luck Grace, hope the break works for you. It will be just like retirement, but without the dodgy knees and falling asleep at 9.30.

Some news! I'm leaving @commonslibrary at the end of September after 10 very happy years in Parliament. I've loved working in the Commons, particularly this last spell in the Library, but it's time for a change of scene. 1/?

For the sake of balance, if you voted Remain, could you list three ways in which your life has got worse as a result of Britain leaving the EU?

@pmdfoster @chrisgreybrexit Unbelievable. Adjustments are taking place. It's working well. So we have to disrupt it to force NI to be more dependent on the UK.

David Frost lamenting the "collapse" of the Irish 'land bridge' (a simple function of his barebones FTA without an SPS deal) is quite something here.

@pmdfoster @michelledonelan @BBCr4today comedy gold from the policy exchange..... to paraphrase "NI business have reacted very quickly...the protocol is working very well for them. None of the chaos & problems we have in GB. Well, we can't be having that!"

@uk_domain_names I was as far away from Festival of BXT as can be but these projects are a long way from anything BXT. Think they deserve a chance, some look quite fun.

They really are going ahead with the ludicrous, divisive Festival of Brexit, at a cost of £120 million that could have been spent on school meals or a thousand other better causes. It will include a grow-your-own-veg display. International laughing stock. theguardian.com/culture/2021/o…

I want to see simple, low key measures like mandatory masks, home working and social distancing brought back ASAP to (a) protect society’s vulnerable members from Covid & (b) help the NHS carry on caring for all our non-Covid patients. Please RT if you do too.

Disgusted with @BBCNews They reported probs with fuel delivery yesterday due to HGV drivers. No mention it was 5 stations out of 12000. And now I am listening to them talking about the issue they caused with no recognition of the scare mongering part the played. #panicbuying

Love that despite Lindsay Hoyle being an MP since 1997 and rising to the not insubstantial post of Speaker of the House of Commons, the Warrington Guardian still refer to him as Doug’s son. warringtonguardian.co.uk/news/19600753.…

@danbloom1 Possibly, SJ was using 'strangers' in its Parliamentary context where all non MPs are 'strangers'. Hence he meant the rules that apply in the Palace, rather than a more general definition of 'strangers' being people you don't know.

@uk_domain_names Pseudo scientific survey. I drove (frequent trip) from J13 M25 to Ipswich (via A12 - main route to F'stowe/Harwich) thought I'd count how many foreign plated lorries I saw. At the start I thought I would normally expect to see about 30. I saw 9. V. low number. Significant?

The Brexit situation is like a bath with its taps open to a trickle, and plug out. It's emptying, but not empty. Goods are draining from warehouses and stockpiles, but the still-low flow at the ports means they're not getting replenished at the speed they're being depleted.
