@StrontiumDog01 @tempest_books It was made in the late 70s/early 80s as I recall. The aircraft was launched from the deck by a spring catapult and it ‘flew’ up a long length of nylon line attached to something higher a few metres away. It then turned and landed back using an arrestor hook.
English

@TimKeeping @tempest_books I have never seen this before. How is that possible? When did they stop making it?
More importantly - where can I get one! 🤣🤣🤣
English

@London_W4 How far south on that line were you hoping to find "England"?
Also, just as well you uploaded this video when you did as the rest of the line is a mobile network desert!

On a train heading out of London for a trip to England. Thought I’d show you the architectural dross that is Nine Elms. Possibly the most poorly designed, most devoid of character, devoid of personality area in London. If you can bear to watch to the end, there is a glimpse of an architectural masterpiece amongst it all though.

@NavyLookout @HMSSomerset @Rockhoppas We had a slightly more impressive fleet in 1977 for the Silver Jubilee Fleet Review off Portsmouth.

@Crypto__Haris @kevinxu That’s a massive Rolex! Looks to be about 6 inches in diameter! I smell AI BS.
English

@PookyD81 Are you sure they didn’t start out at only 6mm? I know for a fact both Bridgestone Potenza and Turanza with “Enliten” technology come brand new at 6mm.
Found this out when I put new tyres on my TT and then my new Q4 came with Bridgestones.
English

A290 tyres: I was surprised to notice the amount of wear on my recently removed PS5s tyres, fronts at 4.5mm and rears at 6mm, after only 5800 miles. This is despite me pottering around trying to get good range. I wonder if the tyre is contributing significantly to the poor efficiency, especially in the cold. It’s as though it has a high grip poor rolling resistance tyre for fun, but fun you can’t access due to the poor range. I wonder if @TheDanProsser could get Alpine UK to update his long termer with the EV specific version of this tyre found on the A290 GT to report if there’s an efficiency improvement and any downside in the way the car drives?

English

@nola_swiftie That’s not abandoned, that’s the Whitgift Centre in Croydon which is still trading. The large department store at the far end with the pale blue sign which is boarded up was called Allders, hence the location is “Allders Square”.
English

@cutlerstom @ITV This could backfire badly on any brand willing to be complicit in this nonsense. This is not American Football!
English

I’m sorry @ITV, I’m not quite sure what I just saw there, but it looked like you were trying to play an advert side by side with a live sporting event.
Please don’t ever do that again.

@kshvbgde Was once told by a Coke rep a few years back that Coke Zero was produced for the male market as men wouldn't want to drink a "diet" drink. Apparently the different sweetener gave it a flavour more attractive to men in blind tests and the branding was a little more masculine.
English

@PcPhilanthropy Nope. I plug the mains lead in on the power supply (not switched on!) to get an earth to the case and then regularly ground myself as I work.
English

@federatier @colinsutton @VW Think you’ll find that’s a Vauxhall.
Don’t disagree with you about VAG software though.
English

@colinsutton You should complaint with the brilliant department of @VW, it's not an EV issue, it's a garbage car issue.
English

@AkkadSecretary Love Loganair. Can’t beat the inflight catering.
English

Decided to try this out
> Guaranteed seat
> Airport unlike station was warm
> Free tea and good biscuit
> Tiny plane, quick on and off
> Few passangers so umcramped
> Saved hours and £

Callum@AkkadSecretary
It's increasingly the case that it's cheaper to fly around the UK then get the train, never mind much faster and more comfortable. (You are at least guaranteed a seat)

@scottygb Whoever Rachel works for as Director of Communications needs to seriously think about what they’re paying her. She is an absolute player and clearly capable of manipulating the story to her advantage. Priceless in the real world as well as in this somewhat surreal one!
English

absolutely ADORE the fact that Harriet essentially banishing herself has already been forgotten about and hasn't changed the gameplay at ALL #TheTraitors
English

@scddevereaux Definitely some old school Gulf Racing colours going on there. Stephen is a secret petrol head.

@KwikFitCS Hi Teddy, I have just dropped you a DM with the details.
English

@TimKeeping Hi there Tim, we are really sorry to hear that our team claim they are unable to repair your tyres. Can you please DM us so we can help you further. Thank you! - Teddy
English

Poor show @kwik_fit Havant, claim @Bridgestone B-Seal self sealing tyres can’t be repaired because of the “gunk” inside. Odd, that’s not what your own blog says. kwik-fit.com/blog/what-are-….
Clearly only interested in selling me a new tyre and no, the sidewall isn’t damaged. 😡
