First Sea Lord and Chief of Naval Staff
Last week I visited the Govan and Scotstoun shipyards to see how much progress has been made with the Type 26 frigates, the next generation of @RoyalNavy warships. It was great to see HMS Glasgow nearly finished and gearing up for sea trials, with HMS Cardiff close behind her.

Our editor @geoallison spent Monday inside a secret Royal Navy exercise no journalist had ever seen. Learn more about how the armed forces simulate war this Thursday lunchtime, when our exclusive report goes live.
George Allison@geoallison

I'm the first journalist ever allowed inside Exercise Virtual Warrior, the Royal Navy's classified annual war game. They took my phone at the door and showed me how Britain rehearses a war it hopes never comes. The full story, Thursday, only in @UKDefJournal.

@UKDefJournal It’s a cold reality under a Burnham government. We will end up renting those yards. Enjoy the pint.

@UKDefJournal While independence is on the table we should absolutely be building these in English ship yards. It’s strategic industry.

@UKDefJournal Lol. The UK is too busy kowtowing to immigrants to afford anything for the military.
