@Variety I genuinely like Rob , but people advocating for a draft who aren’t eligible lack credibility.

Rob Schneider says the United States “must restore the military draft for our nation’s young people” amid the ongoing war with Iran: “Being a citizen of the United States gives us unparalleled Freedoms and opportunities that are the envy of the world. However, these Freedoms that we cherish do not come without a cost.” variety.com/2026/film/news…

General Hertling here is making very astute observations, and asking all the right questions. It is clear from his line of reasoning, that either the administration has no bloody idea of what it’s doing, and it’s going to deploy a light force to do something that has no staying power, or, as the general wonders, this is only the “opening gambit“ of an intent to deploy a larger force. If it’s the former, we’re screwed, because those small number of troops will be chewed up peace-meal, and accomplish nothing. If it’s the latter, we’re even more screwed, because then we’re repeating all the worst steps of Vietnam, and we’re going to end up in a massive quagmire, that could eventually destroy our status as a global superpower.
Furkan Gözükara@FurkanGozukara

Terrifying warning. A US General confirms that deploying the 82nd Airborne is just an "opening gambit" to seize terrain. He warns that Iran's massive size and geography mean the US is preparing to put a catastrophic number of forces on the ground. WW3 is here.

I'll give away the secret. I've told people about this formula many times before so here it is again: In a hurting wind, you adjust for 1% per MPH of wind. 14 MPH? Adjust 14%. 170 x 14% is 23.8. In a helping wind it's .5% of help per MPH of wind. Of course, plenty of other factors after this, but this is a key number everyone should reasonably be able to calculate or at least get close on. Not really a secret btw
LKD@LukeKerrDineen

I love that Edoardo Molinari is casually living in the year 2036 Calculates exact hurt/help yardage impacts from various distances at different wind speeds 24 yards of hurt in this 170 yard/14 mph example. (Rest is X'd out because don't want to give away too many secrets)

Thinking someone should start a podcast - Beyond the Recruiter- to help answer questions for people interested in joining the military. Probably tailored for people not looking to join the Spec Ops community.

@BizWisdomYT @TLCplMax I don’t know for sure , but I do think the CG does offer more opportunities to go on AD form the reserves. Additionally, you’ll be part of homeland security so there is a breadth of training you can seek out & attend due to your status with the CG

Note : my experience with the recruiters ( Navy ) was positive- they told me exactly what to expect & it all played out how they stated. I know sometimes they get a bad reputation, but overall they want to put the right person in the right spot , especially if you have a good ASVAB

I work in Civ Div w many former coasties - they all appreciated their time. Years back , right out of HS my buddy joined the AF R and for a few years he was upset thinking he would never be activated , then 9/11 happened. I would ask beyond the recruiter about going AD from the reserves
