Paul Douglas: Are smokier summers here to stay for Minnesota? startribune.com/paul-douglas-a…
English

Republicans just opened the door to a massive mining project in the Boundary Waters—putting one of the most pristine ecosystems on the chopping block so corporations can profit.
On #EarthDay, let’s be clear: you don’t protect the planet by selling it off.
English

@MichaelH_MN The Star Tribune will be on this story in 3…2…1…never.
English

@AndrewMercado Conservatives just aren’t in love with the nanny-state, which translates to “evil” for people who are afraid of life.
English

@NortonMpls It makes me feel old seeing such a formerly vibrant place that was relatively new at the time and that I did contract work in many times over the years being torn down because its time has passed.
English

@liamgjt75203 @NortonMpls A LOT of trust funders in that part of town
English

@RogerGoon73 @LoudOutside Same.
I don’t know what she paid for it (sound is off) but you win some & you lose some with used cars & it sucks to lose.
Mercedes & BMWs depreciate big time, making them an attractive possibility for people wanting to experience a high end car.
People don’t need to be dicks.
English

@LoudOutside I'm going to go with this is actual sad sincerely.
English

@LoudOutside Had that happen once with a 15 year old Camaro that I bought for my kid back in 2001. Was ten miles from the house of the guy I bought it from when the fuel pump failed.
Never had a Benz, but have had 4 very used Beemers over the years that were all solid
English

@DylfromMPLS Perhaps you leftist dipshits should have cooperated instead of trying to protect your imported future voting base.
English

@DylfromMPLS B. S.
Just because you guys lost your cash gardeners, nannies, roofers and dish washers doesn’t mean the metro’s economy took some sort of hit.
If anything, those positions have been refilled by people who are above board.
English

@Geniustechw Not sure what I’d do, except for not shove a camera in his face during a teachable moment.
English

@CodingSwede @Messinadress1 Plenty of teachers have perspective on their place in society, but too many are weighed down by a distorted sense of self-importance coupled with a persecution complex.
English

@TomD_SADFORIAN @Messinadress1 Yes. And teachers are one of those professions that have an extremely overblown impression of themselves. Fact is that many people who are educated in anything can teach that subject perfectly fine. Especially when they know the student and can adapt the material to him.
English

As someone who comes from a family of teachers , 90% of you aren’t smart enough to homeschool your kids and are doing them a serious disservice
Connor Boyack 📚@cboyack
Homeschooling, in a nutshell, is refusing to outsource your child's formation to strangers with a curriculum you didn't choose.
English

@CodingSwede @Messinadress1 “Retarded statement”
Messinadress did say that he/she is from a family of teachers.
/ to be fair
English

Retarded statement. The bottom 90% aren't the ones doing the homeschooling. Homeschool parents are often uni educated themselves and work together with other homeschoolers who work together to teach subjects together where parents help with subjects they actually know. And this then ignores that many go through privately formulated programs with teaching resources compiled by subject experts.
English

@Messinadress1 Theres some truth to the 90% figure, but those 90% have no problem throwing their kids into the poison pool of public schools
And while private schools are preferable to home schooling IMO, home school parents are typically smarter than teachers anyway (easiest degree out there)

@gotrice2024 These are Lack of Influence-ers (always and forever).

This group of teens came in with cameras ready, they were trying record themselves doing a good hack to get more food for less. The manager immediately stops them and tells them she is refusing service because they are recording without permission.
The man lies and claims he’s only recording because it’s his first time ordering. She then says she’s going to call the police if they don’t leave.
Was she overreacting at that point or do you think these influencers are crossing the line by always trying to record others without their permission?

Even most trades people aren't all that great at the trades.
Some mouth-breather who aligns bar codes for eight hours a day wouldn't last a month in skilled trade work.
English

@TonyLaneNV hardly a job worth a humans attention.
it will be decades before that can replace skilled tradesmen.
Everyone sorter and warehouse person can learn a trade.
English

THIS IS WHERE EVERYTHING IS HEADED…
They just introduced an AI robot that can literally keep working even when parts of its body fail.
Let that sink in.
No breaks. No complaints. No days off.
Even damaged… it still gets the job done.
This isn’t “future tech”… this is happening RIGHT NOW.
How long before this replaces real workers? ⬇️ 🇺🇸

@MrDude079 where are all the maga supporters calling to deport these white american teaxhers commiting offenses ljke these constantly???
