“You’ll own nothing and be happy” isn’t a future slogan in Thailand. It’s already how the system works—quietly, efficiently, legally. Everyone in east Asia is so much nicer than in the West. I’m in Bangkok, Thailand 🇹🇭 and the city feels so much safer in the average street because nobody fears each other. Everyone walks around with a high level of respect for other humans. It’s truly mind-blowing.

@Wez197 @CleansedTweets Yeah I’ve called Thailand My Home for 28 years now, married for 19 of them, and I’ve seen all the changes. The next big one will be blockchain and that’s an absolute game changer. Thai banks will change forever.

@Thunder261 Yeah the signal continually drops connection so we go hours without any internet. Cheeky cos yesterday they cut our signal & I got a message to pay this month’s bill. It was only 6 days overdue. Came back on 2 mins later! Cheeky as we’re never compensated for issues at their end.

I use True internet and the quality of the internet is so bad lately. Some websites won't load. YouTube is glitching. Therefore, I'm using VPN perpetually at the moment. Is anyone else having issues with True internet? #Thaitwitter

Silver dropped at one point $45 today. This market is broken. I read somewhere between gold and silver it was $15T in selling. Almost our GDP In a few hours. In gold and silver Would be nice to know: 1) who is regulating these markets 2) who sold $15 T of paper metals 3) what does the physical market look like as the paper market is being crippled 4) why is anyone believing the paper market anymore. This is a wild market. Just a few years ago - we all complained at a $.45 drop at 8:30 am. Price went down $45 today and crickets. We are most definitely seeing banks blow up here. I have no idea which ones, but $15 T of selling is perhaps a bit higher than the limits allow. Unless you are hedging. So who has $15 T in metals to hedge? Not a lot of people sitting at that table. Get your popcorn out. This can pop right back up as soon as whoever got the metal they needed to deliver. Then that short is a problem for another month.

@seftonhanley @Whale_Guru The old legacy system is running on fumes. Each drawdown will get bigger as the Big Banks’ monopoly on money unwinds & they try to save it. Breton Woods 2.0 on its way to a blockchain near you soon.

@hispanicnomad @rkid_andy Depends on your perspective, I guess. I argue you can as long as you know it'll never be permanent. “You’ll own nothing and be happy” isn’t a future slogan in Thailand. If Southeast Asian countries were honest about their visa policies 👇 🇹🇭 Thailand: "Come for 60 days, leave, come back. We'll pretend we don't notice you've been here 8 months" 🇻🇳 Vietnam: "Pay our agent $500 and stop asking questions" 🇵🇭 Philippines: "59 days free, after that just extend forever, we don't care" 🇲🇾 Malaysia: "You can stay 90 days but we'll randomly deny you at the border for fun" 🇮🇩 Indonesia: "Bali is a different country with different rules, nobody knows what they are" 🇰🇭 Cambodia: "Everything is $50 and a smile" 🇸🇬 Singapore: "Follow every rule or we'll ban you for life (OR WORSE)" I spent 2 years border hopping in SE Asia. The system is chaos and everyone prefers it that way

@seftonhanley @Whale_Guru True and if JPM wasnt involved in the silver paper smash this week, I’m Rumple Stiltskin! I’m invested in SLV using Ondo and I watched it fall in real time. Gold too. Just loaded up with more SLV. Next week’s gonna be interesting, for sure.

@Whale_Guru Paper and leverage.. The rush to the exits as stops trigger simply floods the price.. This week was too bullish, now likely too bearish.. Look back at end Q1 and see where it sits..

@jesperbkk All true & as old as the hills plus having a social function in society e.g. orig. to comfort the women when the men went hunting. Jung would say better out than in e.g. “make the unconscious conscious” & confront your “shadow,” or “it‘ll rule your life & you’ll call it fate”.

I was sitting near a group today and couldn’t help overhearing a familiar pattern: a group of people bonding by listing their partners’ flaws, comparing bad habits, and subtly competing over whose man was “worse.” It made me wonder when criticism became a form of connection. Every relationship has imperfections. But when we reduce the people closest to us to a catalogue of weaknesses, we’re not just misrepresenting them, we’re also revealing something about how we see intimacy, loyalty, and responsibility. Sometimes the real problem isn’t the partner. It’s the story we choose to tell about them. Any of you men out there who think they’ll go home happy to their hubbies after several hours of this? Or they’ll go back and look for mistakes ??

@FPetet Time to leave. After many years, I left Bkk during covid for a quieter, more rural life outside of the big city. It’s very peaceful where I am now and the only noise l hear at night is a took gare lizard! Je ne regrette rien. 😄

They are soon opening 3 more pub/nightclubs. It is bad enough with one pub, with girls drinking, screaming, and shouting in the car park until 3, 4 or sometimes 6 am. Someone, further along the soi, put signs up, but I don't think that helps here.

I can't believe that people are so inconsiderate. Last night they started heavy construction at 10 pm in the "night market" next to us. At midnight, there was a lot of shouting, and the police finally arrived to stop the construction. This is not the first time this has happened

A small recommendation from me: The ticket seller at the Khlong Saen Saep Riverboat in Bangkok, Thailand will come to you and you can pay directly at your seat/place. There is no need to go to him. He will find you and if you not sure if he sees you, give him a friendly sign. You should have between 20-25 baht in coins in your hand and it's better if you avoid big bank notes like 500 and 1000 Baht. It's sometimes not easy for them to get the correct change money because of a bumpy ride through waves from passing boats. In my opinion, the best seats are at the very back on the long bench or right at the first row by the driver. #thailand #bangkok #boat

So if labor stops being a thing I think the most valued land will be in the nicest places which is where rich people already hang out: 🏝️ coastal land, near the beach with sea view 🏔️ mountain resorts 🛍️ luxury centers of cities (maybe) Kinda same as it is now, although cities will stop being a thing to be in for labor
Tim@TimurNegru

Interesting strategy, though I wonder about real estate specifically - if AGI disrupts location-dependent work, what happens to property values in expensive cities? Buying assets that depend on pre-AGI economic rules seems risky to me.
