@RowlandRIVALS It’s funny you get paid for this “analysis”. I guess it’s appropriate to have a second rate sports writer to go with a second rate team.
At the very least you can't say the draw is bad on the surface for UK. Right now you would consider Tennessee middle of the SEC and Florida and South Carolina more bottom of the SEC. Of course that can change, but the likelihood of two of those three teams sliding into the "long shot" category is lower than for most other schedules. South Carolina gets UK and Florida while UK gets USC and Florida... But UK also gets Tennessee while USC gets Georgia.
@WhaleyKirk@AD_DannyWhite I also got there at 2pm and walked straight in gate 22. I was in my seats for an hour and a half before the game started. What did your family do wrong?
Awful pregame experience… My family got there at 2:00 and barely made it in before kickoff..it was so much better last year. The security in front of the stadium is worthless policing beers more than safety. The bands path not over the bridge anymore changes everything for those in attendance.
VolNation, I owe so many of you an apology. The experience getting into Neyland yesterday was not acceptable. The expanded south concourse and gate 9 / Truly Plaza are intended to make ingress much better, and they will, but our plan was obviously not effective. It wasn’t for lack of effort, our staff and campus partners have been working hard on this all offseason. It is proven to be difficult to predict traffic flow with new gates given our tight footprint. That’s not an excuse, we missed the mark. That’s on me. I want you all to know that we are immediately looking at adjustments to our plan. Just as importantly, we will communicate with y’all this week about your best path into the stadium depending on your seat location. Thank you to those that have made me aware of the situation on this platform. I did see it myself at Gate 20. It gutted me to see our loyal fans so frustrated. I’m very sorry. We will fix it.
@JaySciAshley Why would it go towards any of that? It’s using athletic facilities and it was organized by the athletic department. as a “student on campus” you would think you might try to understand how the different entities operate.
And, of course that money is going toward better parking and housing and academics! The university has made its priorities clear—how could anyone think otherwise??
I hope the Morgan Wallen concert brought in enough money for #UTK.
Otherwise, having one of the busiest bus stops BLOCKED so that students have to get dropped off in the street while it's pouring down rain would be pretty crappy.
@coach_b_chatman@OU_Football Didn’t play well, and still beat OU by 10. Not bad for a freshman QB’s first road game and your trash field they couldn’t stand up on.
@OU_Football Tennessee fans are some of the worst I've encountered. And if I was a TN fan I'd be really worried. They didn't play well. Football guys will tell you that OUs defense played a hell of a game. OUs Offensive issues had less to do with TN and more to do with OU
@TonyCranmore@11Crowns@lostvol@AD_DannyWhite Tony, perhaps you are younger than us. In my day it was free, you had to go to the student center stand in line with your ID first part of game week and pick them up. They were allocated to students, location wise it was random but you got a ticket.
Hey @AD_DannyWhite I know student tickets are in high demand, but how does a masters student not get tickets to the UTC game. Unbelievable that a student with 6 years on campus paying TUITION and going to events in numerous sports each year not get a ticket. Bad look!
@BearcatVol@lostvol@AD_DannyWhite Then perhaps the student population has tripled? I was a student myself and there was a lottery for the big games just like there is today.
@TonyCranmore@lostvol@AD_DannyWhite I didn’t misunderstand. To add a little context, I was involved in a meeting to bring student group seating back to the stadium. And was involved in some of the planning to return it… part of the discussion was tickets available and if it was even feasible. And it was.
@BearcatVol@lostvol@AD_DannyWhite Perhaps you misunderstood? The student section is exactly the same as it was 25 years ago my freshman year. I seriously doubt there was ever a time that a third of the stadium was students.
I was saddened to hear about Oprah’s issues with income inequality and oppression last night.
I had always assumed having amassed a net worth of $3,000,000,000 and being the owner of a wildly successful television network meant she had been able to achieve the American dream.
I hope she’ll be able to overcome in the next few years. Thought and prayers.
@Hey_its_Patti@lostvol@AD_DannyWhite That’s a different issue. It definitely is a problem that the club level seating on the west sideline has a bunch of empty seats, but it’s because those people stay in the club instead of in the seats. It doesn’t mean they aren’t at the game, so the ticket is being used.
@TonyCranmore@lostvol@AD_DannyWhite Do you attend many games? If so you know there are prime seats sitting empty for the non-conference games. This goes for basketball as well. I think asking folks to make sure someone is sitting in their seats on Saturday is a good thing. Whether it’s sold or donated.
@tennseth@lostvol@AD_DannyWhite There are 35,000 students versus 11,000 tickets in the student section. Of course they will not allocate more, they would lose millions of dollars.
@AllSportz247@lostvol@AD_DannyWhite There are 35,000 students, I don’t think the university would be willing to lose millions of dollars a year just to provide them for every student.
@Hey_its_Patti@lostvol@AD_DannyWhite The stadium will already be filled, that’s basically the point. Demand is extremely high. Would you “donate” a ticket you could easily sell for $100 each? And these are the cheap games.
@lostvol@AD_DannyWhite Hey there @AD_DannyWhite! This might be a good time to mention a system where season tix holders who aren’t planning to attend could “donate” that ticket to a student sitting on a wait list who isn’t getting to go. Let’s try to fill that stadium every week!!! Go VOLS!!!
@BearcatVol@lostvol@AD_DannyWhite Not sure where you got that. The student section has always been around the same size, and they allocate 11,000 tickets to students. Demand used to be lower, so there was no problem getting tickets.
@lostvol@AD_DannyWhite All I know, is we were told that there used to be tickets available for every student on campus. Now they’re not. Don’t exactly know what happened, but I bet dollars were part of the equation.
