@wil_da_beast630 @kevinf567 Americope. The top restaurants in the world are in Japan, followed by London. New York does feature in the top 10, but that's the only American city.

@kevinf567 I mean, multiple top ten restaurants for every cuisine in the world are based in the USA. We also invented California, Western nouvelle, Tex Mex, souls food/US Southern, Cajun, and at least a dozen other cuisines. Enjoy your spuds!

@thatjenmonroe Have you actually been to England? Nobody really eats tuna with jacket potato lol. It's a viral meme from TikTok from a random cafe. Rich too, coming from the country that eats cheese from a can and their supermarket bread has so much sugar it's considered cake in Europe ;)

I’d actually be cool with some BBQ baked beans on a potato But I have no idea why tuna fish is being added, except that England really likes gross food

@skavenslave @ChristinaTasty Americans love mexican food with has tonnes of bean and bread combo. With beans on toast the whole point is that it's crispy toast so if doesn't go soggy. Add some cheese on top and it's a cheap, easy, simple small lunch

The Jacket Potato has been around for ages. You can put anything you want on it, just typically done with cheese, beans, chicken etc. The huge queues are purely a TikTok thing. No one is queuing more than two minutes at a Spud-u-Like.

I love a jacket potato as much as any Englishman, but I sometimes fear that the ability for the rest of the world to see how we live has not been an entirely positive development for our country

@AntonyArakkal1 @Albrochier @Finch__Hatton @AkkadSecretary A loaded baked potato can have various toppings, just like a jacket potato. Most people in the UK aren't putting tuna and beans on a potato either, but they are versatile you can top them with whatever you want.

@goescarlos @Birdyword I can get something equivalent to this or better in any hipster street food market in a British city, or any decent gastropub that sells loaded fries. We always have tonnes of Mexican restaurants in London which are great (source; been Mexico twice and spent a year in SoCal).

@TheBigBlackJosh Facts. Yanks rant on about American food being great, and give Mexican cuisine as an example (not actually American btw), when 80% of Mexican food - especially in working class areas - is literally just variants of slop comprising potato/carb, beans, cheese, but with spice.

@carlym_c @Tango_Returns Most people don't. There's nothing wrong with a homemade jacket potato, beans and cheese for a cheap easy lunch the odd time, but I don't know anyone who goes to a Chippy and orders something like this. Most of these videos are just social media ragebait.

@thegolem1982 @Tango_Returns It's just basic, cheap, filling food. It's not meant to be a refined dish. Meanwhile the Yanks that dunk on jacket potato with beans & cheese lose their minds over Mexican dishes which are * checks notes * potato, beans, and cheese (but make it spicy)

@Tango_Returns I particularly enjoy the "that can't be nutritious or energy dense" argument when these foods evolved specifically for that reason. Cheap sustenance for hard work.

for most people outside the UK, British "food" is unimaginable, like something out of the worst prognostications of dystopian rations in George Orwell's Air Strip One without video evidence you simply wouldn't believe it

@gundappen @Gefera_ @escapefrommelos Le Cope. English and French traditional cuisine are closely linked due to the historic ties and close proximity of the countries. Obviously. But they have many distinct dishes. Also, Britain has beaten France several times recently in cheese and sparkling wine competitions.

@jamesbeak44 @JournoMaddie That's just not entirely true tho. It was the establishment's doing, which the vast majority of the older generations had no part/say in. Moreover, like most native Britons, they've repeatedly disavowed, and voted against, the mass immigration that has occured since the 90s.

I really feel for the older generations. They grew up in a time when it was standard practice to tell young people off for antisocial behaviour. Many don’t know that it’s now dangerous to do so. I’m fed up with low impulse control youths ruining every public space for everyone else. standard.co.uk/news/crime/eli…

@theninakai @JournoMaddie @SymondsSally I live in London, I know multiple well-educated young women who aren't even particularly left wing or 'woke' and have been harassed by migrant men, as have their friends, yet they still won't / can't openly callout the issue, and fall back on the "it's a men problem" angle.

@theninakai @JournoMaddie @SymondsSally This is a real issue sociopolitically among young women, and it's at its most dangerous with regards to the ethnic demographic and immigration situation in Europe. These young women's fear of being branded "racist" or "fascist" or "bigot" supersedes their own sense of safety.

Many students gave rude gestures, shouted and even threw food, waste and fireworks onto the remigration march in Leuven but this is the one who stands out to me. This young woman is standing in a beautifully decorated room, apparently part of the university. It looks to be a few hundred years old, cared for and conserved by her ancestors so that she can use it today. The activists who she hates demand remigration because they believe it’s necessary to save the culture that created this room and the university she attends. In other words, these activists are campaigning so more women can have the life she has. And she hates them for it.

@JournoMaddie Women are having their naturally empathetic natures effectively taken advantage of by the state and media in this. It's why they tend to vote/politically lean based on what they *feel* is "nice" vs "not nice" (welcoming endless immigrants is 'nice'), rather than what's true.

@JournoMaddie She hates them because it's what she's been told to believe. You're obviously an exception, but a significant number of Gen Z women (and a lot of Millennials too tbf) seem to be extremely susceptible to the messaging/narrative pushed by the Globalist-Fabian state & media.

@y_ury_ @MajorGerbil @borniliad @bymortalhand @AngloRestore It's not horseshit because it literally forces you to become more resilient and have great endurance of physical and mental hardship. Winters in Britain and Scandinavia are some of the most brutal in the world because of the darkness. This in turn makes you appreciate the light.
