@SamSmithHiggins @Plaid_Cymru I respect that you have acknowledged the democratic scandal that is Closed Lists.
English

@Plaid_Cymru I don’t belong to a political party any more. Having weighed everything up, I’ll be voting for Plaid Cymru. I believe they will be refreshing for Wales. *You can disagree and not comment - I’ve only recently learned how to do this 😂*
English

Indeed, what a farce. Shame on any Senedd Member who voted for Closed Lists.
Lloyd Warburton🏴🇺🇦@LloydCymru
It’s so depressing seeing election pitches to the effect of “vote for us so we can compete for the sixth seat in your constituency” This shouldn’t be a thing😫 Anyway, nos da pawb
English

@InstaSim6 @LloydCymru Have you:
(1) Ever disagreed with your party previously?
(2) Said so on Social Media?
English

@ToshFan44 @LloydCymru You haven't lost your right to vote just because we have a crap system in place this time
Use it constructively, and with some hope we'll see the system change to what it always should've been

Every passing day I get more and more annoyed that they chose a closed-list system for the Senedd election.
A total power grab by the parties from the electorate. I want my vote to represent a specific approval of a person or people, not contentment with anyone on a list.
The next Welsh Government should make it an immediate priority to replace the system with Single Transferable Vote for 2030. Power to the people!
English

@ToshFan44 @LloydCymru Kicking the reforms further down the road wasn't an option (nor should it have been) because the bulk of the work was done and ready. The electoral system can (and hopefully will) be changed swiftly after the election
English

@InstaSim6 @LloydCymru Only the most partisan of plonkers would ignore that Plaid voted for Closed Lists.
English

@ToshFan44 @LloydCymru Plaid's policy has always been STV. Closed Lists was not their idea, that much is blatantly obvious
English

@InstaSim6 @LloydCymru Do tell us what was said in the 2021 Plaid Manifesto about Closed Lists. Good Luck.
English

@LloydCymru Thankfully, that was something Plaid put in their manifesto. Hopefully it's something they enact reasonably swiftly if they form the next government
English

@LloydCymru Understand Plaid and Drakeford wanted it but Welsh Labour MPs against.
English

@WalesAtTheUN @LloydCymru What a shame that Plaid Senedd Members accepted them also.
English

@LloydCymru Mark Drakeford admitted at the time it - closed lists- was the only system the welsh labour party wud accept (absolutely it needs to be changed in time for the next Senedd election)
English

@TrishDenning @LloydCymru I'm only referring to your useless and partisan response to this thread. Your lot voted for Closed Lists. In a Welsh or UK context, that stinks as there was no manifesto commitment to do so.
English

@ToshFan44 @LloydCymru What is pathetic about wanting Welsh independence?
What is partisan about campaigning for the best interests of Wales?
What is nonsense about fighting against the English Nationalism of Reform?
You have lost your sense.
English

@Dunadan9 @LloydCymru Closed Lists was not in the 2021 Manifesto. Plaid voted for Closed Lists.
Do you think Reform will vote to remove Closed Lists?
English

@LloydCymru @ToshFan44 Its in Plaid's manifesto to change it to STV.
English

@LaurenMaeve @HuwDavies1998 @ifanmj Your criticism has been consistent and on the money but I am struggling to recall when the group in Senedd gave it any focus? It is the most shameful attack on Welsh Democracy in my lifetime and imposed without consent. No doubt I am preaching to the converted on that one.
English

@ToshFan44 @HuwDavies1998 @ifanmj In my defence I’ve slagged it off loads but I doubt it’s a criticism levelled at me…
I think when it was introduced the Senedd group may have been more vocal about it being crap
English

The squeeze messaging from Reform is on.
Nigel Farage MP@Nigel_Farage
Latest polling shows Reform has closed the gap on Plaid. Voting Conservative is a wasted vote. 🏴
English

@LaurenMaeve @HuwDavies1998 @ifanmj Lots of criticism from Welsh Conservatives about extra Senedd Members but next nothing about the move to Closed Lists which has far more democratic and accountability implications.
English

@HuwDavies1998 @ifanmj It really is 😂 I’ve been giving out serious health warnings on seat predictions to pollsters and English journalists all week
English

@LloydCymru Let's get a Plaid government first please Lloyd.

@LloydCymru I saw a Labour Billboard on Colcot Road today. I have seen a few Plaid ones in Pontcanna and Radyr. Loads of Propel in Fairwater. A good few Conservative ones at the edge of Fields on the way to the Western part of the Vale. #EtholiadRhestrauCaeedig
English

That said, there are generally way fewer than in previous elections. I’ve spent the weekend in Barry, saw two Labour and about 4 Plaid. I drove from there to Porth and Aberdare and saw about 3 Labour and 3 Plaid Cymru in total. I saw a Conservative one and a few LibDems in South Powys last week. Usually I’d expect more than this in Ceredigion.

We believe that history was made yesterday in the u16 @VoGAFL Cup Final with Tiana being the first female to be in the middle on any Cup Final in the Competition. We & the league are very proud of her. ARs were Mark & Myles. Right pic: Tiana with League Chair, Mark Harvey. (1)
