@Barsotta I thought he had some flashes of brilliance, but also was inconsistent both hitting and fielding at times. On to the next one.

@AmandaMAtwell It's not just happening downtown but various other neighborhoods around the city as well. People are either J-walking straight into traffic or will be walking down the sidewalk but almost drifting into the street multiple times as they walk. It's getting old. 😵‍💫

I am so glad all of the World Cup visitors are enjoying their time in Dallas but please I beg of you stop walking into the middle of the traffic in downtown near Dealey Plaza. You are playing with your life. There are crosswalks for a reason.

@nascarman_rr Not quite one-offs, but I remember Mike Skinner and Ken Schrader running some races for Red Bull in cup circa 2007-2009. Always felt like two older guys was very opposite of the image with their drivers they were going for at the time.

What's the most random, one-off NASCAR entry you can think of? I'll go first... Greg Sacks driving for JR Motorsports in 2010.

@rachallison1 ... and by that I mean judgement in terms of their own flaws or hurts, yet at the same time will then have walls that are sky high while having blind spots to their own issues. It's a vicious cycle to watch.

I think people who have dated less seem to have way more fun with it 😅 the longer you’re on the market, the more rules you tend to make for yourself

@DanIsett In continuing with a theme of charity, my only thought is there's some sort of precedent now in the legal world where denying wrongdoing is somehow just as risky legally as admitting it and their athletic comms acted accordingly. But otherwise, I agree that it's a mess.

@TravisLofley I don't disagree. However, what they produced was a word salad instead of flatly denying any wrongdoing. It invites further scrutiny and keeps the story alive. My hunch is that's the opposite of what they wanted.

Is everybody who works in college athletic departments bad at comms?

Cincinnati statement to @On3: "We will reiterate what we have said before. All of our student-athletes receive extensive gambling education multiple times throughout the year, and we would never knowingly play an athlete who violated NCAA sports wagering regulations. If we ever became aware of impermissible wagering, we would report to the NCAA and comply with sanctions." on3.com/news/brendan-s…

@pickdegen @ShelbyCHilliard If we're talking about who I think we're talking about, there's one or two big names in the euro pipeline that are being heavily linked to Tech. Plus, a certain someone is also linked to a sooner return from injury than initially expected, which changes the whole roster dynamic.

@redraidertech @RichOToole DKR would be plenty large, though I'm fairly certain FIFA wants the matches at pro-level stadiums, plus even if the could UT would have to spend a ton of money to reconfigure the field level to fit the dimensions of the pitch.

@rachallison1 @BornAgainBalaky We also begin to seek out people and things that look like an Insta/Tik Tok reel from it rather than actual places and subcultures in the margins where real people and nuance live. So it then feeds a cycle of what we see becoming what we seek. Rinse and repeat.

@TravisLofley @BornAgainBalaky Oh my gosh YES. People see something on social media a couple times and adopt the mindset that all people behave/think that way

I have a question Women who are “I only date 6’ or taller” If the guy hits every or most marks but is shorter than that is it really a deal breaker? Or if he is 5’11 but hits every and most marks is it really a deal breaker?

@rachallison1 @BornAgainBalaky Basically, someone said something along the way that got captured by the algorithm and subliminally fed into the form of a mind virus. One of many things that we've been sold with a message that's the equivalent of "dog food tastes good, you should eat it!" 😅

@rachallison1 @BornAgainBalaky I'm also convinced that dating discourse, male or female, is increasingly if not entirely now driven by groupthink from the repetitive, quick hit/hot take nature of social media. The same platforms existed a decade ago before the algorithm revolution, but the arguments did not.
