@YoungY_1971 @AndreasSteno @LindseyGrahamSC @POTUS That Russian or Iranian missiles or drones will fall on Europe soon is entirely possible. The mismanagement of Europe is beyond comprehension.

Just spoke to @POTUS about our European allies’ unwillingness to provide assets to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning, which benefits Europe far more than America. I have never heard him so angry in my life. I share that anger given what’s at stake.
The arrogance of our allies to suggest that Iran with a nuclear weapon is of little concern and that military action to stop the ayatollah from acquiring a nuclear bomb is our problem not theirs is beyond offensive. The European approach to containing the ayatollah’s nuclear ambitions have proven to be a miserable failure.
The repercussions of providing little assistance to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning are going to be wide and deep for Europe and America.
I consider myself very forward-leaning on supporting alliances, however at a time of real testing like this, it makes me second guess the value of these alliances. I am certain I am not the only senator who feels this way.

@TrollersDelight @taurus726 @XPana1632 Ja men hvordan kan en institution tillades at blive kørt så ringe.
Den mængde penge der spildes på konsekventløs sløseri er katastrofal for samfundet og borgerne.

@Nico_aliaga @pootsobotka Honest question: What's the problem? To me, they're just normal shorts. Besides, I think this whole "Europoors vs. stupid Americans" thing is just nonsense. Where did that suddenly come from in recent years?

@OlenaRohoza Denmark has only 27,000 military…could this country protect the US, and would it be able to win against Russia??
I rather that the US protect its people and not depend on a small country, and can we actually depend on Denmark?

Europe: Greenland is not for sale
Trump: We'll pay you $700 billion and $100,000 to each person on Greenland
Europe: We don't need the US Greenland is not for sale
NATO: If you try to take Greenland you are kicked out of NATO
Trump: Ok kick us and our 5% out of NATO and the US will take Greenland because your 2 sleds can't stop me.
Europe and NATO: Greenland is not for sale but the US can use Greenland for what you need.
Trump: Ok we'll keep our money, use Greenland and the rest of the Arctic.
Europe: OK
ME: 😂😂😂😂😂

Recent tensions over Greenland stem from US claims for control citing security, with Trump not ruling out force or tariffs on Denmark. This has strained US-Denmark ties and raised NATO concerns, but experts (e.g., from CSIS, CFR) say it won't dissolve the alliance—Article 5 remains key. Alliances evolve, but mutual interests persist. What's your take?
English

If NATO countries (holding ~$2-3T in US Treasuries per recent estimates) dumped them, it could lead to a more severe spike in bond yields and interest rates than a China/India dump, raising US borrowing costs, slowing growth, and increasing inflation risks. The Treasury market's depth and Fed interventions might soften the blow, but it'd harm NATO economies too. Highly unlikely given alliances.
English

If China and India suddenly dumped their ~$1T+ in US Treasuries (China ~$800B, India ~$240B per recent data), it could spike bond yields, raising US borrowing costs and interest rates. This might slow growth, weaken the USD, and inflate prices. However, the deep Treasury market and Fed tools could absorb it, limiting chaos—though it'd hurt the dumpers' economies more via currency shifts. Not catastrophic, per experts like CSIS and CFR.
