@TobyDDRice @theo_wayt It's likely because they aren't heavily marketing it due to low capacity. Many think it only does text, which is incorrect. It also does light data with apps like Maps, Whatsapp, even voice/video calls. Probably won't kick into gear until nextgen sats but Starship needed.

I promise you this is a service issue. It's not good enough yet - I travelled 19 states last year, the need is real, dead zones are everywhere, small town, rural roads, parks, etc - the product doesn't work yet, it's not worth it for just text. I take a Starlink mini everywhere and it $165/Month - when real effective D2D coverage is, say ~$10/month, we will rapidly see a case where everyone expects full service, everywhere, all the time. There service just isn't there yet.

@mikeddano @CounterPointTR An odd report given that most any new phone 'shipped' should support Starlink and AST. The context should be carriers that support Starlink/AST by 2030, not by phone penetration. And it will probably be most by then.

@retail_mourinho If AST fails it would likely be due to the logistics of dealing with such large SATs and lack of manufacturing experience. If AMZN acquires, who has demonstrated experience, they'd likely alter design somewhat smaller, more manageable for higher production yield rate.

@retail_mourinho Unlikely AMZN would pay over $50 for ASTS, unlikely Abel/key stakeholders would sell under $100. If true AST struggling to manufacture SATs and hit severe roadblock, AMZN will wait for stock to crash before a move. If AST smooth sailing, AMZN won't bother.

If $AMZN wants to seriously compete with SpaceX, the only way is through an acquisition of $ASTS. Blue Origin × AST SpaceMobile. I want to reiterate that I don’t think a buyout will happen. I see the likelihood at around 5–10%. -RM

@young98br Other factors are the 3 fails for April... BB7 launch failure, no batch delivered and no BB6 demo. All 3 were important for April, none happened. BB8+ batch for May questionable now. ATT now saying they would consider other D2D players.

@mxhdic @PCMag The bulk of D2D usage won't come from consumers, it will be IoT.. x.com/SawyerMerritt/…

Halter announced today the launch of direct-to-satellite connectivity using SpaceX's @Starlink for its smart cattle collars, a world-first that removes the need for cell towers or on-ranch infrastructure. "Using Starlink enables ranchers to manage cattle anywhere they can see the sky. Combined with a suite of new tools for reproduction, animal behavior, and precision pasture management, the release significantly expands what is possible for cattle ranch management. Beef ranchers in remote and rugged regions that were limited by connectivity can now turn to virtual fencing to run more productive and sustainable operations - at a time when they face rising fuel costs, labor shortages, and an aging workforce pressures." Halter’s internal modeling estimates direct-to-satellite capability expands coverage of the U.S beef cattle market by 2.5x. Until now, Halter’s solar-powered, GPS-enabled collars relied on Halter’s proprietary long-range radio towers. With direct-to-satellite, the collars can communicate via Starlink, eliminating ground infrastructure entirely.

@PCMag Lol, who needs a service that doesn’t deliver true broadbrand in 2026 ? Nobody, that’s right.

@endless_frank Given AST had two big April fails - BB7 and no batch delivery they should demo BB6 to boost confidence. Not doing so boosts skepticism.

$ASTS Can we talk about how well BB6 is performing? Talk about the connection speed and how we don’t even need BB7 which was a backup satellite. Or give the market a feel for how far along we are on 25 satellites when we say we’re working on BB32? There is near zero effort to promote our brand. We can do so much more to get people excited about this story or we can just let these algorithms run us over every day. Hire a couple of creators to help educate the market about what’s coming. We are the only company that can transmit 5G and 6G D2D etc etc. Let the world know! @scottwisniews @AbelAvellan @AST_SpaceMobile

@AntiFeminismGuy @PCMag Even though Starlink nextgen needs Starship, at the rate of AST deployment we may not only see Starlink nextgen fully deployed, we may see another SL SAT gen before AST gets to a constellation 2030+. We need competition but AST looking like a mess.

@AntiFeminismGuy @PCMag Many said 'check back in next year' last year when it was supposed to be 20-25 SATs operating by end of 2025 and delivered only 1 additional. It's next year and still no progress since the 1. Batch delivery delayed yet again to May and might be missed.

@FREESPEECH1017 Eventually most MNOs will partner with multiple D2D players delivering service just as they partner with multiple tower players. If AST delivers could see Tmo using via Grain spectrum from Tmo. But AST appears to be having major delivery challenges, not a given they succeed.

So, so much for that T-Mobile switching to AST.... Why MNO's want to go with Starlink DtC. Multiple product bundling. MNO's love Starlink x.com/TMobileBusines…

@AntiFeminismGuy @PCMag It looks like ASTS is have serious issues with shipping SATs, was supposed to have 5 launches in Q1/2026 and had zero. As it stand for now ASTS not even 1/100th of Starlink Sats given no one can even use it and likely can't until 2030+. They might actually fail.

@PCMag It’s because Starlink D2D sucks. Drains battery due to constant handoffs. Not integrated into MNO backbone / network. It’s roaming. Also low bandwidth and only intermittent SMS. Not even 1/100th of the Bluebird Sats of $ASTS

@AntiFeminismGuy @PCMag Many are on plan that includes for D2D 'free' but most Tmo users are in above avg populated areas, most likely only using D2D if outages like hurricane/fire. Is likely why so many initially showed up for the LA fires but not as many since.

@blissplz @AorakiTrading From what I've looked up it's not exclusively military, also for MNOs. A demo was broadly expected for April, they don't have to provide locations. Given two major fails in April would boost confidence to show a BB6 demo, not doing one increases skepticism.

$ASTS bought more @ $72 This discount is insane, I think we hit $100+ by end of May and at $20b market cap I can’t buy enough. I sold some $AMD $MU $SNDK and $5930 to fund these buys, this position is now 50%+ of my portfolio up from 8%. Drunkenmiller mode.

@mathlonning If no batch delivery in May then they've got some major production yield issues. Would only expect 6-9 sats deployed this year at best if the case.

The amount of catalysts $ASTS has hit since it’s been a $70 stock makes it pretty insane to see this price again. Talk about an opportunity ✅ Verizon DA ✅Golden Dome ✅Tons of new MNOs ✅SDA Contract ✅FCC Approval The list goes on. Buying with patience you get it all free

@DustinHuntwn It's not the production rate that matters as much as the yield rate, the SATs that pass all tests ready to ship. Even if able to produce 100/month if they yield is only 1-3% it's going to be a slow deployment. They earlier said 6 to ship for April, now saying 3 for May.

@DividendPayers @ASTS_SpaceMob What good is a better design if still not able to execute. By the time AST gets a full constellation Starlink may have 2 newer gens of SAT designs deploying at lower cost given shared infrastructure with dish service already profiting.
