At a @Morocco_UN Mission-hosted side event at #CSW70 on women & Africa’s food security, @UNOSSC Director Dima Al-Khatib highlighted a stark reality: Women produce up to 80% of food in rural Africa – yet face a 27% higher risk of hunger. This is not a paradox. It is inequity.

The event showcased the strength of South-South cooperation. Hon’ble MoS @savitrii4bjp, Minister for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities of South Africa, H.E. Sindisiwe Chikunga and Vice-Minister for Women of Brazil, H.E. Eutália Barbosa Rodrigues Naves highlighted the work done by IBSA Fund to empower women leading to development of the communities they live in. PR @AmbHarishP stressed that the demand driven nature of the Global South endeavour. Added that the approach reflects the philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. @UNDP Administrator Mr. Alexander De Croo detailed their contribution, as the implementing @UN agency. A very productive meeting today with Mr. @alexanderdecroo @UNDP Administrator 🤝🏽 Strong partnerships between UNDP, the High-level Committee on SSC, and @UNOSSC are key to advancing #SouthSouthCooperation and #triangularcooperation delivering real impact on the ground.

Ambassador HILALE : UNDP’s role as host of @UNOSSC is essential. Its continued institutional and financial support is critical to strengthening #SouthSouth and triangular cooperation worldwide.

Ambassador Hilale has also a Great exchange with the Administrator together with @dimaalkhatib1 on preparations for BAPA+40 review, the role UNOSSC Strategic Framework 2026–2029 and @UNDP support to key initiatives, including the Alliance for South-South Cooperation to scale partnerships and results.

@UN @UNFPA Also highlighted were opportunities under the UNOSSC Strategic Framework 2026-2029, positioning #SouthSouth and #TriangularCooperation as drivers of #SDG acceleration, linking countries to knowledge, data, partnerships and catalytic support for development solutions.

@UN @UNFPA Discussions centered around the importance of knowledge sharing and capacity development, targeting specific areas where Moldova requires assistance as well as specific expertise that the country can share with other countries in the spirit of #TriangularCooperation.

@UNOSSC Director Dima Al-Khatib met with H.E. Natalia Plugaru, Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Moldova, and Andrei Nicolenco, DPR of the Permanent Mission of Moldova to the @UN, to discuss advancing cooperation through #SouthSouth and triangular partnerships.
