“Advil PM, Benadryl, Tylenol PM, Zzquil, a beer… Percocet, Vicodin that I would take every night to sleep 4 hours”- Greg Oden Greg Oden’s struggles in Portland had little to do with basketball. Battling bulimia, alcohol, drugs, and the weight of immense expectations, he was fighting battles far beyond the court. Unable to sleep, Oden created his own dangerous mix of over-the-counter medication, alcohol, and prescription painkillers. Though only 19, the “house party guy” found ways to cope that ultimately fueled a downward spiral. @thepivot on @youtube & Streaming Platforms. youtu.be/0uK7pfUwC70 #ThePivot #GregOden #Addiction #NBA

I’m on day 3 of quitting cannabis. Yesterday was a bit hellish. I was a heavy user consuming anywhere from 500mg to 1000mg a day. Cannabis withdrawal is real. I’ve experienced sweating, headaches, lethargy, hard to sleep, erratic body temps and no appetite. I’m an addict. No way else to put it. Opiate and benzo withdrawal was 100x worse and I got through that. Weed was my safe place but I abused the f out of it, and to quit, there’s a price to pay. The only way out is going thru it.

@HouseLowlights Exactly!!! Leflop plays written all over them. This fake mvp went to the floor on almost every single shot trying to get the call. Fuq his weak ass game! These flops are ruining the game and the NBA needs to clean this up. Damn I miss the ol' school NBA when actual men played!!😎

Bro, I got love for you so I’m not going to even go there. Folks are looking out for you and you don’t even realize it. Here you are making this kind of noise and it hasn’t even been a week since you lost a 3-1 lead. You’re HOME. A champion and a Finals MVP saying his favorite season is the season he’s home in the FIRST ROUND. This is not about ME. It’s about YOU….and what YOU SAID. Enjoy your offseason.

@planert41 Hey friend. I think what you’re experiencing is normal. Being a parent is exhausting. It takes everything you have and then some. Our breaks are short, but the years are shorter. I’d just challenge you to be in the moment, be present, and remember you’ll miss these days.

Dads with young kids Is it normal to just feel tired and burnt out all the time? It’s like you don’t even really get the weekend to recover because it’s all just kid stuff the moment you wake up Arguably the only personal time you have is when they nap (and you’re already dead tired by that time) or the hour after they go to bed but before you pass out Just trying to figure out if I’m doing something wrong

As an Iranian who stayed connected through Starlink during the total internet blackout, I want to wholeheartedly confirm what President Trump just said: "The Iranian people want to be free. They have lived in a world that you know NOTHING about." For 47 years, my people have endured systematic torture, rape, murder, humiliation, anxiety, suppression, and grief under the Islamic Republic. It’s been a long, grinding suffering — punctuated by brutal spikes like the January protests, mass executions, and now war. The world has no idea of the scale or depth of these horrors. Only when this evil regime finally falls will the full truth pour out — in quality and quantity that will shock humanity. We have now reached a point where almost no cost is too great if it rids us of this regime. Because the cost of it staying in power is infinitely higher. If you’re reading this and you can’t understand how any Iranian could feel relief at their own country losing a war and getting bombed… I envy you. You have never lived what we have lived. You have never watched your people, friends, family, and loved ones get tortured, raped, or killed almost daily and over half a century. You have never seen an entire nation slowly but brutally suffocated like this. We tried every alternative imaginable: massive protests, dissent, peaceful reform, negotiations — everything. None of it worked. The regime’s answer has always been bullets, gallows, and more terror. Now, less than 24 hours before Trump’s deadline, I write this with a heavy heart from inside Iran: Whatever happens next — if there is still an Iran left to save and this regime is gone — the Iranian people will be happy with the result. No matter the cost. Because the cost of the regime remaining is higher, and for many of us, death itself is preferable to another day under this nightmare. This is the true sentiment of the majority of Iranians — the voice of a people who often have no internet, no platform, and no way to be heard. The world will soon understand why we say: Anything to be free. Anything to end this evil. #IranMassacre#IranRevolution2026

Your kids will complain about you when they're adults. That's guaranteed. "Dad was always on his phone." "Dad worked too much." "Dad had weird rules about snacks." But there's a difference between minor complaints and actual damage. The question isn't whether you'll mess up. It's whether you'll mess them up in ways that actually matter. HERE'S WHAT CREATES REAL DAMAGE: Not missed soccer games. Not strict bedtimes. Not working long hours. It's this: • Growing up not knowing if they're loved • Being punished for having emotions • Feeling like nothing they do is good enough • Learning their thoughts and feelings don't matter • Walking on eggshells because Dad's moods are unpredictable That's the stuff that sticks. That's what ends up in therapy 20 years later. And here's the hard part: You can't prevent it by being perfect. You prevent it by being intentional. TELL THEM YOU LOVE THEM Not just when they earn it. Even when they're being difficult. Even when you're frustrated with them. They need to know your love isn't conditional on their performance. DON'T PUNISH THEM FOR FEELING Kids have big emotions and no idea how to regulate them yet. That's not defiance. That's development. Your job isn't to shut it down. It's to teach them how to handle it without losing your mind in the process. PRAISE EFFORT, NOT JUST OUTCOMES "You worked really hard on that" beats "You're so smart" every time. One builds resilience. The other builds fear of failure. ACTUALLY LISTEN Put your phone down when they're talking. Not because every story about Minecraft is riveting. Because they're learning whether their voice matters to the person who matters most. STAY REGULATED Your kids aren't afraid of boundaries. They're afraid of unpredictable reactions. Calm and firm beats explosive and inconsistent every single time. And when you do lose it? Apologize. Model repair. THE STUFF THAT WON'T MATTER AS MUCH AS YOU THINK: → Missing some of their events because of work → Being stricter than other parents → Not buying them everything they want → Having rules they think are weird They'll survive that. What they won't survive unscathed is feeling unloved, unsafe, or unheard at home. Your kids won't remember every moment you were there. But they'll remember how you made them feel when you were. They won't remember every rule you enforced. But they'll remember whether you enforced it with respect or rage. They won't remember every mistake you made. But they'll remember whether you owned it or blamed them for your reaction. You're not going to get this right every time. I don't. But if your kids grow up knowing: • They're loved unconditionally • Their emotions are valid • They can trust you to stay calm • Their voice matters in your home You didn't just avoid damage. You gave them a foundation most people don't get. That's not perfection. That's just being the dad they actually need.

Man, I just want Pau to go on a podcast and FLAME all these former Kobe teammates. He’s one of the main guys who can call them all out. Pau was considered a “soft Euro” when he played for the Grizzlies, and everyone said he wasn’t a winner. He came to the Lakers and they went to the Finals his first year. He got bullied by KG and Perkins in the ’08 Finals. The “soft” narrative continued. That summer, Kobe pushed Pau like he’d never been pushed before: early-morning training, late-night weight-room sessions, endless film sessions. Kobe verbally abused him daily in practice, calling him weak. How did Pau respond? He toughened up and stepped up. One of the greatest Laker playoff runs in ’09, then in ’10. He faced the Celtics again and not only held his own- he was DOMINANT. Kob was training DAWGS. Some stepped up and became champions. Others, 15 years later, went on a podcast and complained about Kobe’s leadership style✌️

"Leach Time" 🏴‍☠️ Before games, Coach Leach had our teams go to the movie theater and watch the newest releases. Why? Sure, he was a huge movie buff, religiously staying all the way through the credits and holding up our buses from leaving. He also loved his movie snacks and was very particular about his popcorn. Early on we used to stay at the Red Lion in Lewiston, Idaho the night before games and go to the theater there. Then we switched it up and started staying in Pullman the night before home games my junior year. But Leach loved the Lewiston theater popcorn so much that he had them prepare a bag and had a younger staff member drive over to pick it up. Haha. But the real reason was to get our minds off the game, relax, and be at ease. He wanted us to enjoy ourselves, have fun, and be loose. Not wound up and uptight about the game. Then we’d come back to the team hotel for our nightly meetings and he’d say: “Alright, it’s football time.” That was our trigger to lock in and focus. The horsing around was over. This back and forth was a constant for our team, ebbing and flowing between “relax time” and “football time.” I believe it was a big reason for our success, helping us recharge and come back more focused and fresh during football time. In fact, I think this same ebb and flow was a big reason for Leach’s long term success as well. While most coaches were grinding in the office 365 days a year, burning themselves out with paranoia, Leach spent his off-seasons in Key West enjoying life outside of football. But when he got back to Pullman, Lubbock, or Starkville, he was back in the saddle during “football time.” I think we could all use a little more “Leach time” in our lives. Stepping away from the grind and truly allowing our minds to relax, be present, and enjoy life outside our work, business, or whatever it is we do so we can recharge for our “football time.” #MindStrength #LeachTime

🔥 Stephen A. Smith GOES OFF on Kamala Harris for telling black people "I told you so." @stephenasmith "We supported you when you didn't necessarily earn our support. You didn't go through a primary. Black folks still supported you. Why you keep standing in our face talking about you told us so? Like somehow someway we went against you and we didn't believe you and we didn't support you. Yes, we did. Yes, we did. In some cases against our better judgment, we still supported you."

NBA legend Charles Barkley just called out liberal sports fans & media for being “stupid” & divisive following Team USA’s gold medal win/visit to The White House: “Why do y’all have to mess up everything?… That’s why we got this divided, screwed up country. Stop it, man. Because the public, they’re idiots, they’re fools. They can’t think for themselves. I know y’all say stuff to trigger them. Y’all say stuff and y’all know they’re going to be fools.” He also essentially called out Steph Curry, Jalen Hurts, LeBron James, Megan Rapinoe, & other liberal athletes: “I’m not a Trump guy. But if I got invited to the White House, I would go. I’m not a Trump guy, I want to make that clear. But I respect the office. He’s the president of the United States… it doesn’t have to be a talking point. I don’t have to be un-American. I just wish y’all would stop falling for stupidity.” (🎙️: The Steam Room)

Iran has confirmed it. Khamenei is dead. 86 years old. Ruled for 36 years. Killed in a joint US and Israeli airstrike on his compound in Tehran this morning. His daughter, son-in-law and grandchild were killed with him. Iran has declared 40 days of mourning. Trump says most of Iran’s senior leadership is gone. Not two people. He said three separate attacks in 24 hours. Israel says 40 regime figures were killed in the first strike alone. People are cheering in the streets of Tehran right now. This is the biggest geopolitical event since the fall of Saddam. Iran has no clear successor. The regime is in a succession crisis with no chain of command left. IRGC commanders are reportedly looking for immunity. Monday markets will be chaos. Oil, gold, defence stocks, everything moves. If you have any exposure to global markets, pay attention this weekend. The world just changed.
