Outsiders always want teams to "react!" to splash moves because it either makes them feel better or draws cheap clicks. But good front offices have actual rosters to construct. That's not done well on emotion. The 49ers are in a different part of their financial cycle than the Rams. They, too, have added A LOT in their retool over the past 16 months and are confident in their own process. And the 49ers have every reason to feel good about their team since objective results indicate their retool is ahead of schedule. They just won 13 games despite being massively injured!
