@mckaywrigley What about for large codebases? Do you use Cursor instead of Opus? If not how are you using Opus?

Workflow now: 1) if I need up-to-date docs for anything I use o3 with web search in ChatGPT 2) generate plan with repo prompt + Gemini 2.5 pro 3) pass those to Claude Code with 4 Opus 4) it almost always nails it, sometimes I’ll edit it just a bit further in Cursor So good.

Claude 4 Opus + Claude Code is an unbelievably great coding agent. Opus is basically an AI SWE. It’s the *most* productive I’ve been using AI to code while requiring the *least* effort of any tool - it just works. Give it todos and watch it speedrun your backlog. It’s magic.

@chamath I remember I used to listen to @HardcoreHistory common sense podcast. In 2011 he made this same argument. Maybe the needed change will finally happen. Outsourcing manufacturing was equivalent to outsourcing innovation in manufacturing and I fear the US will find itself behind.

There is a widely held belief in high finance that, irrespective of the President, all Presidents offer the market a “put”. Sometimes we call it a Fed Put. Other times we call it a Treasury Put (remember TARP). But the point is the same and it is always there. This “put” is jargon to say, simply, if markets go down severely, you can show up at the WH and always sell things to The Administration in charge. They will find a sinkhole of money to use. If they don’t have the money, they will print it. This has happened in every administration over the past 25 years including Trump 1.0. It was conventional wisdom. Here is a good clip worth a few seconds to watch. It is a well reasoned argument that attempts to explain the underlying reasons why under Trump 2.0, there may not be a “Trump put” or “Fed put”. If this plays out, we are at the beginning of a radical change in long term fiscal and monetary policy. If so, the ripple effects will last for 100s of years. These changes will be initially hard to digest but can lead to a durable American Renaissance.

And one more tip is I use Claude 3.5 Sonnet to help with the more creative asset generation for the campaign (text only ofc). So much of your job these days is figuring out what each model is good at and inserting it at the appropriate spot in your workflow.

I know *nothing* about ads. Used OpenAI Deep Research all week to help me start using Google Ads. The campaign it helped me create is driving ~$600/day in <5 days on a *very* small starter budget. Every day I give new data to o1 pro, iterate, and numbers go up. It’s crazy.
