I'd planned to watch today. Plans changed and I didn't but followed the updates. It's a long time since I got angry about football but for this depressingly familiar pattern to happen for a fourth consecutive season has long since been beyond a joke #watfordfc

Gulf states intercepted about 1500 Iranian drones in 1st six days of war, as per IISS. Last night Ukraine says it intercepted 435 Russian drones. In one night. Nota bene.

Savour the irony here. For a year the Trump administration have browbeaten Zelensky as a loser with no cards. Now they turn to him for anti-drone defences. Perhaps they will now recognise that Ukraine is a valuable, battle-hardened ally.

@greateranglia Hiya - the 0817 from Stansted Mountfitchet to Liverpool Street appears to have bypassed Stansted Mountfitchet. Am now on a packed 0820 train. Do you know why it didn’t stop there please?

@greateranglia hi there - is first class decommissioned on Stansted express trains? I’m on the 0817 from Stansted mountfitchet which (unusually) has a large set of first class coaches

Whether you want Javi Gracia gone or not, whether it happens now or in a month’s time - it doesn’t make a jot of difference. It’ll be the same clowns appointing his replacement for the umpteenth time. #WatfordFC

WELKER: Is Greenland or NATO more essential to US national security? BESSENT: That's obviously a false choice WELKER: Not from the perspective of European leaders BESSENT: European leaders will come around and understand they need to be under the US security umbrella. What would happen in Ukraine if the US pulled its support out? The whole thing would collapse.

I knew Dmitriev from his business days in Moscow in the 90s and naughties Ironically he was born in Ukraine although if you ask him he’ll tell you he was born in the “Soviet Union”. Also ironically he began his career working for USAID as a fund manager at Delta capital which was a democracy promotion vehicle via building capital markets – specialised in venture capital funds I interviewed him the day he was made the head of the RDIF and he had a real stab at bringing big US funds into Russia which didn’t work. The making of him was bringing in Arab investors which now play a huge role in Russia’s investment scene. He’s famously a horrible manager but effective. Extremely well connected in the Kremlin. He’s brought a lot of money in Russia and it’s very well connected in the Middle East too. Which has been very useful because Witkoff is also a Middle East real estate expert and they have a lot of common ground Here’s my profile: intellinews.com/who-is-russian…
Michael Weiss@michaeldweiss

"'Fake it till you make it' was Dmitriev’s modus operandi, the source said. 'And he has, objectively, made it very far.'" Great profile by @PjotrSauer: theguardian.com/world/2025/nov…

Hazlewood out of the first test as well as Cummins … Ominous early signs that the run of the green you require to win big series is swaying Englands way … Huge chance for them to go 1up in Perth .. #Ashes

@ThomasJDesign Just seen this and so pleased you said it. I thought the reactions from most fans after the Sheffield Utd game was hysterical and paranoid

Watford produce their best half of the season(?) to complete yet another turnaround 2-1 win at Vicarage Road. Gracia's side were dominant after the break, the introduction of Doumbia working very nicely. Good win. watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/25564731… #Watfordfc
