Gulf states intercepted about 1500 Iranian drones in 1st six days of war, as per IISS. Last night Ukraine says it intercepted 435 Russian drones. In one night. Nota bene.

Savour the irony here. For a year the Trump administration have browbeaten Zelensky as a loser with no cards. Now they turn to him for anti-drone defences. Perhaps they will now recognise that Ukraine is a valuable, battle-hardened ally.

I knew Dmitriev from his business days in Moscow in the 90s and naughties Ironically he was born in Ukraine although if you ask him he’ll tell you he was born in the “Soviet Union”. The making of him was bringing in Arab investors which now play a huge role in Russia’s investment scene. He’s famously a horrible manager but effective. Extremely well connected in the Kremlin. He’s brought a lot of money in Russia and it’s very well connected in the Middle East too.
