@DivideGaming21 But if that's the reason, why does the destiny community still support destiny while hating marathon? Both games came from the same company, and most of the issues you listed were already known long before Marathon was announced.

It's crazy to me to think that the Zero Hour exotic mission was funded by the Whisper of the Worm ornament sales in Eververse during some of the lowest periods in Destiny, yet for years upon years between Beyond Light & Lightfall when playercounts were consistently higher, we never got anything else like this that was "free" unless you count Into the Light. Where did all that money go to? Oh yeah.. Marathon and multiple cancelled incubation projects. My bad.

Video from the scene captures the chaotic moments after a vehicle struck several women in a crosswalk in Denver. People can be seen desperately trying to lift the car to free one of the victims trapped underneath.
A witness who was standing nearby with his sister described what he saw. He said the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed, around 40 miles per hour, when it ran a red light and hit the women who were waiting to cross.
The witness said he was able to pull his sister and another person out of the way but wasn’t fast enough to help the women who were struck. Denver police confirmed the vehicle ran a red light and hit three women between the ages of 19 and 24.

I really hope we see a D3. From my perspective it made sense to pivot to its development after Lightfall and wrap D2 after final shape. But I am not Bungie leadership and can’t pretend to know why choices were made.
The stark truth though, is if D3 truly wasn’t in dev at all and they announced intent to make it tomorrow, it would be at soonest 4-5 years before a launch. The level of systems/engine/progression/structure reworks and building that would need to be done to make D3 the successor it would need to be in the CURRENT gaming landscape would IMO be staggering (and worthwhile)

But this is the exact reason I won't support the petition. You don't have to like or play marathon but actively attacking people for playing marathon is too far. This kind of behaviour is the exact reason I left the destiny community.
