i cant speak for everyone. but the reason why i didn't mind of Gojo winning. the trope of sensei's constantly needing to die, for the students to step up and beat the big bad. getting very old ,annoying trope in battle manga. would've been refreshing if it didn't happen.

The one vs Yuta was before the black flashes which meant he still had those limits which is why shrinking it removed the 99 second limit and replaced it with 3 minutes.

He performed it without decrease in range or output using a portion of his brain not affected from UV and because of this he can only hold it for 99 seconds. Going against Yuta he reduces his range which lets him remove that limit
