Another leak: Péter Szijjártó offered Sergey Lavrov to send EU documents through the Hungarian Embassy in Moscow.
Just when you thought it couldn't get more blatant, another leaked conversation has surfaced between Hungary’s FM Péter Szijjártó and Russia’s Sergey Lavrov.
In this latest clip, Szijjártó doesn't even hesitate. When Lavrov asks for the "exact document" regarding EU-Ukraine negotiations, Szijjártó treats him like a VIP client, promising to rush the confidential info straight to Moscow via his embassy.
This isn't a one-off mistake; it’s a coordinated pipeline. While the EU works to protect Ukraine, Budapest is busy hand-delivering the playbook to the aggressor.
Transcript:
Lavrov: “I know, that's why I asked. Look, I wanted also to call you and to check about the compromise you reached with the European Union on opening of the negotiations for Ukraine on Accession. And there were reports that the decisive role was played by the language of national minorities.”
Szijjártó: “Absolutely. It was the case. Absolutely it was the case.”
Lavrov: “We are trying to get hold of the exact document, but...”
Szijjártó: “I'll send it to you. It's not a problem.”
Lavrov: “Because what was reported, what was reported was that the language says that Ukraine must respect the rights of all national minorities.”
Szijjártó: “Absolutely. Absolutely. This is the case. This is the case because you know, my position is that when it comes to national minorities, although of course I'm standing up for the Hungarians, but there can't be a discrimination, because if there is a discrimination against one, tomorrow there might be a discrimination against another one,…”
Lavrov: “As we discussed with you some time ago.”
Szijjártó: “Absolutely.”
Lavrov: “Absolutely. Okay, Peter, if you can send me the document, I would appreciate.”
Szijjártó: “Sure. I immediately do it. I immediately do it. I send it to my embassy in Moscow, and my ambassador will forward it to your chief of staff, and then it's at your disposal.”
Recordings of Lavrov-Szijjártó calls dating from 2023 to 2025 were obtained and confirmed by a consortium of investigative news outlets consisting of VSquare, FRONTSTORY, Delfi Estonia, The Insider, and the Investigative Center of Ján Kuciak (ICJK).
