@RefereeMag - respect from fans / players / coaches. It is taught from a young age by coaches and parents to yell, complain and blame officials at every sporting event like it is part of the sport. Many people ask me, when I tell them I officiate, why I would want to put myself through that.

@RefereeMag - pay: the amount of hours it takes to be a good oficial is an investment of time. You don’t just sign up the show up at the field prepared.. the rate needs to increase so it as seen as more of a per time job than a hobby.
