The lab's new paper on contextual factors associated with emotion beliefs available here: rdcu.be/c4QXb When people feel moreso that their emotions will last "forever" they are more likely to try to escape, distract themselves, and also ruminate.

Does anyone have any template recommendations for clinical write-ups of PID-5 results? We're trying to integrate dimensional assessments into our reports at the Pitt Clinical Psychology Center, but can't settle on templates for clinical application.

Are you an @ABCTNOW member interested in joining a new Personality/Personality Disorders SIG? If so, please comment below! We just got approval to be a "group-in-formation" so we need 10 ABCT members to sign up so we can have a meeting this fall. 🖊️

This is a good point! Would there be interest in a personality/personality disorder treatment SIG (special interest group) at @ABCTNOW? @DrEhrenreich (tagging you b/c you're our incoming president and a generally lovely person) - do you know how one starts a SIG?

@paperbag1 @SauerZavala @DBsamuel_phd @stephenbenning @ABCTNOW Yep. And even then… prime example is also there’s no personality disorder SIG…despite high prevalence in population and clinical practice.

@ashleylwatts @KMKing_Psych @FloriJessica Can I ask you all a related question. How do people account for the fact that risk factors (like impulsivity) can/do have an effect on alcohol problems/harms, even while adjusting for (“holding constant”) level of alcohol *use*. What’s a reasonable way to explain that?

TURNS OUT “ludacris” is not the actual spelling of the word. If you need me, I’ll be at the local elementary school relearning how to spell things.

#RStats tip of the day, want **reproducibly** random jitter plots? Use position_jitter()! ggplot(mtcars, aes(x = cyl, y = mpg, group = cyl)) + geom_boxplot() + geom_point(position = position_jitter(seed = 37)) Note the exact matching between plots! gist.github.com/jthomasmock/b6…
