Sorry. I should’ve elaborated more broadly. I'm not erasing women like her. I'm trying to understand the nuance: the movement made space for women when the struggle demanded it, and in that space they earned real respect. But the broader ideology still often expected them to return to traditional roles outside of wartime. But again it’s nuanced and youre closer to the experience.

@AlgoTeacher @ntsikimazwai They were 2 sides of the same coin. They saw women as supporters in the struggle only out of necessity but outside of the struggle both PAC and ANC wanted women at home, nurturing.

This is so stupid. "Palestinian" only became an identity in response to Jewish presence on the land. The partition of Pakistan-India required displacing 14 million people and killing 1 million. Yet, no one cries about Pakistan being illegitimate. People just moved on.
