I had a call with President of Iran, @drpezeshkian. We discussed the situation in Iran and the Middle East. A ceasefire and a diplomatic solution are urgently needed. I emphasized the need to end the strikes on neighbouring countries and restore freedom of navigation in the Strait Hormuz. Despite the disagreements, it is important to maintain dialogue.

Iată că pot apărea și proiecte liberale în România, nu doar creșteri de taxe, scheme și subvenții. Gabriela Horga, Cristina Prună, Sebastian Burduja și cu mine am lansat un proiect transpartinic care dă posibilitatea românilor să economisească pentru pensie prin investiții pe bursă. Proiectul este nu doar liberal dar și transpartinic, fiind semnat nu doar de PNL și USR, ci și de PSD, AUR, UDMR și deputați neafiliați. Da, se poate. Iată că atunci când e vorba de binele României poate exista consens chiar și între partide cu animozități oficiale mari între ele. Este vorba de conturi similare conturilor 401(k) și IRA (Individual Retirement Account) din SUA. Pentru cine nu știe, conturile acestea sunt probabil cel mai de succes plan privat de pensie din lume. Sunt unul dintre motivele pentru care piețele financiare americane au ajuns să fie extrem de puternice. Și au permis la milioane de americani să devină investitori economisind pentru pensie prin bursă. Multe țări europene au preluat modelul. A venit momentul să o facă și România. Dar ce înseamnă asta practic? 1) Contribuții 100% voluntare. Fie deductibile fiscal și impozitate la retragere, fie nedeductibile dar neimpozitate la retragere. 2) Câștigurile din investiții 100% neimpozitate (câștiguri de valoare, dividende, dobânzi/cupoane). 3) Banii tăi rămân ai tăi, nu se amestecă nici în bugetul de stat nici . Poți investi cum vrei, acțiuni, obligațiuni, ETF-uri etc. 4) Retragerile au loc la momentul pensionării. Pensiile nu trebuie să fie o sursă de finanțare pentru deficitul statului. Și nici nu trebuie să depindă de mila guvernelor viitoare. Vă spuneam săptămânile trecute că sunt multe soluții pentru a crește economia României și fără să reducă statul cotele de taxare. Aceasta este una dintre ele. Libertatea economică nu e doar un slogan, e soluția.

Aderarea României la Uniunea Europeană a fost o poveste de mare succes. Țara noastră avea un decalaj istoric față de țările dezvoltate, pe care l-a redus considerabil. În anul 2000, România avea doar 26% din PIB-ul mediu pe cap de locuitor al UE și am ajuns astăzi aproape la 80%. Suntem astăzi la aproape 80%. Este important să subliniem aceste lucruri pentru că bombardamentul constant cu știri negative ne face să pierdem imaginea de ansamblu. Pentru a continua accelerat dezvoltarea României și în viitor sunt câteva direcții majore pe care trebuie să le consolidăm și pe care le-am menționat în discursul de aseară: •Reforma instituțiilor reprezintă o prioritate a mandatului meu, astfel încât acestea să poată pune bazele unei creșteri economice solide. Calitatea instituțiilor și modul în care acestea influențează prosperitatea tuturor românilor sunt esențiale. •Un obiectiv primordial pentru România este aderarea la OCDE în acest an. Suntem în grafic și acest lucru se datorează în mare măsură și colaborării între partidele politice. Este o etichetă care va spune lumii că țara noastră are o guvernanță economică similară cu cele mai bogate țări. •Trecerea la moneda Euro trebuie să fie un alt obiectiv major pentru România. România își dorește o Uniune Europeană mai puternică economic, cu o Piață Unică funcțională, dar ca aceste lucruri să se reflecte în venituri mai mari pentru oameni și în companii mai competitive este necesară integrarea în nucleul economiei europene. Susținem inclusiv o piață energetică unică europeană în care energia nucleară să joace un rol mai important. •Republica Moldova este și va rămâne o preocupare importantă pentru România. Vom continua să sprijinim integrarea sa în Uniunea Europeană și o integrare a celor două economii. •Totodată, Uniunea trebuie ca în următorul buget pentru 2028-2034 să atingă un echilibru între competitivitate și coeziune în așa fel încât să își crească relevanța economică globală fără să adâncească decalajul de dezvoltare între țări.

As a European, I am not afraid that the USA will leave NATO. We already know that they do not have good intentions to Europe and that we, therefore, have to build our defence to be able to fight without the Americans. We are well on our way and it will happen a lot faster if the USA leaves NATO officially. Russia is too weak and small to be a long term threat to Europe. They simple can not match what we can produce. As long as we keep Ukraine from falling, Russia is also not a threat to us in the short term. So if the USA leaves NATO, it is simple for us: Keep Ukraine from falling at all costs and build up European defence and weapon production as fast as humanly possible. We can and we will do that and Europe will be absolutely fine and safe.
