@_will_archer @notanother3putt @rarecarat Sorry pal but I grew up in the jewelry industry and sold diamonds since I was 16. Lab grown diamonds have zero second hand value. Natural diamond do infact hold value. The cut, color, clarity and size will determine how much.

@Jowanza @eightsleep I was looking up parts to build something just like this— I found a couple things but nothing with a feedback loop for natural sleep cycles during the night. Much easier to just buy it, I already have plenty of work.

Many bootcamps are (and will be) going out of business as we are entering a time when college grads with years of study, plus internships, are finding it hard to get entry-level dev jobs.
Bootcamps were thriving at a time when there was a shortage of even new CS grads. Pre-2022.

Perhaps because people finally realised a big chunk of them are not worth it or are borderline scam? There were/are some really good ones, but many of them seem to be just a money-grab. I know quite a few people that got burnt.

@mnwsth Most credible e plantation I’ve heard so far is that the board was from an earlier simpler stage in the company. Altman (appropriately) wanted them replaced with heavy hitters that could handle running a company of this magnitude. The board found out and moved first.

I’m not saying they’re going to get wiped out. I’m saying they’re overextended, which makes them vulnerable. If you’re surviving on debt, and lose your paycheck, you stop buying things you don’t need. The consumer stops consuming, and there’s your recession. They don’t have to get wiped out for that to happen.

I have now had SEVERAL close friends confide in me that they are surviving on debt that are dual income households earning 250-400k per year. Keeping up with the Jones’s is a major priority to that subset of earners, and they’re all in trouble because of it. They will spend until they can’t, but I assure you they are rapidly nearing the point where they can’t. Everything I see with my own eyes in my own life and community are now screaming recession. Wasn’t the case a year ago, I see it now.
