Ugh, we’re staring at a problem with clear solutions. Imagine a world where some of those car payments go into public funding for good transportation options and active travel infrastructure. Crazy, right? For those with anachronistic perceptions of freedom, yes—simply insane!

@jkwessel @GreaterMNC @BostonPWD I had raised similar issues with a filled area steps from Brighton Center, which had great potential for traffic calming or as a space for neighborhood gatherings and community events. @jkwessel and his team are working hard and listening widely. I believe in their process!

@GreaterMNC @BostonPWD Lots of mixed opinions on using these types of elements in sidewalk expansion. Have a group working on potential changes to design/maintenance protocols. Nothing to share at the moment, but we are aware of the negative impacts and hope to have changes to share at some point

Real estate is simply parking in hiding. These twin spherical structures in Chicago looked like waterfront housing complexes at first glance, but was stunned when I realized they were entirely dedicated to housing cars. Urban architecture must celebrate freedom, not congestion.
