📢 PWD Update: Daytime Street Sweeping begins on Monday, March 16 in #BeaconHill, the #NorthEnd & #SouthEnd. Please follow posted street signage. All other Boston neighborhoods will resume April 1.

Daytime street sweeping is delayed in the City of Boston due to snow. Neighborhoods scheduled to begin on March 1 will be delayed until at least March 16. Beacon Hill, the North End, and the South End will be impacted. boston.gov/street-sweeping

Overnight snow removal will continue until 5 a.m. Once completed, PWD district crews will continue daytime skid-steer operations in neighborhoods across the city. We encourage anyone who has a snow-related issue to call 311.

With the most recent blizzard dropping 17-inches of snow across the City of Boston, Night 2 of heavy snow removal is underway. Crews will continue to widen roadways & clear crosswalks & curb ramps to improve safety & accessibility.

Right now @BostonPWD crews are working around the clock on the Blizzard cleanup, but the roads are still challenging. Snowbanks are extremely high right now, making it difficult for drivers to see pedestrians — and for pedestrians to see cars.

With daytime operations winding down, our crews & contractors will be out tonight conducting large-scale snow removal across the city. Pics below from today’s efforts clearing crosswalks, curb ramps & widening roads.

The snow emergency and parking ban will end today at 6 p.m. The special emergency rate at participating garages will end two hours after the ban has been lifted. Vehicles must be removed by 8 p.m. tonight or be charged the garage’s standard parking rate.

When you head outside, please take it slow. Shoveling feels routine, but with this much heavy, wet snow, it’s one of the most physically demanding things many of us do all year — and it puts real strain on the heart.

We’re asking everyone to stay home if you can during this storm. The @CityOfBoston has declared a snow emergency, and our @BostonPWD crews and plow drivers need room to clear the roads.

Boston is seeing high winds and blizzard conditions. Call 311 or use the BOS:311 app to report fallen trees or branches. Call 911 to report downed power lines — assume they are live and dangerous. Power outages can be reported to 311 or your utility company.

Boston has declared a snow emergency and parking ban. Main roads must be kept clear for emergency vehicles and plows. During snow emergencies, vehicles parked on posted emergency arteries will be ticketed and towed. Check for signs like this one or visit boston.gov/snow-parking
