Thanks to the leadership of the City University of New York for hosting us and for the continuation of our productive conversations on a strategic partnership with @MoiceComm on our #civiceducation agenda. Once finalized this partnership will include intern placements, joint research and publications, joint projects and joint events/symposia as well as potential exchange learning opportunities for our team, Sierra Leone students and for CUNY staff and students. We are excited to continue to cultivate decolonized mutually respectful and strategic partnerships with key institutions as we continue to craft @PresidentBio’s ambitious civic education agenda for #SierraLeone.

“I am proud to say my country, Sierra Leone, listened to our call and is a shining example of the power of this solution. A few of us who marched for education are now in government, inspired and led by a visionary president, His Excellency Julius Maada Bio, who allocates 22% of the national budget to education - making education free from pre-primary to secondary levels for all and for most females studying STEM, free at the tertiary levels. We have doubled down on ‘radical inclusion’, removing all barriers to accessing education. Just last year, our country became only the second to have a “civic education” ministry in our region - a portfolio I am proud to hold.” My statement just now at the ECOSOC chamber of the United Nations as I delivered a keynote at the official UNESCO event to mark the International day of Education. Honored to share the stage with the inspirational Deputy Secretary General @AminaJMohammed , President of the General Assembly Dennis Francis and other distinguished leaders. #kanikayminister #EducationDay

We also discussed my Government’s effort towards deepening #democracy and promoting #peace and #security in Sierra Leone, the #ECOWAS region and the Continent. My administration remains committed to sustaining our shared priorities, including #women and #youth empowerment, #health, #climatechange and inclusive development. Sierra Leone looks forward to working collaboratively with the United States at the @UN #SecurityCouncil for the maintenance of international peace and security and the Security Council Reforms. 🇸🇱🤝🇺🇸

SIERRA LEONE LOST $ 500,000,000.00 MCC MONEY ! Mr. Information Minister, please tell the people of Sierra Leone the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Sierra Leone did not meet some of the requirements to qualify to get the $ 500,000,000.00 from the MCC. I believe one of the requirements not met is Failing to conduct a transparent June 24, 2023 general elections. You claimed to know a delegation from Sierra Leone that travel to the MCC to lobby not to release the money. If that is true, please shame them publicly by releasing their names to the public. You guys need to be transparent period. Now we know lack of transparency started with the SLPP party itself. Thanks to God , the chief minister has been appointed to make the SLPP transparent.

Today's my mama's birthday. She's a 71 years old young woman who's full of life. We are so grateful that we get to experience her smiles, jokes, and amazing creativity. She taught me how to love, how to be kind, and how to serve. Join me to pray for her good health and long life

Due to some other engagements that require my presence in the country, I have to postpone my official trip to Washington DC next week. We'll continue engaging our counterparts in the USG across the executive & legislative to deepen our bilateral economic and development relations

I had the pleasure of hosting some very interesting citizens today to discuss peace, cohesion, and inclusion. Those members were former leaders of the APC opposition and retired journalists and senior citizens. We agree that we need all hands on deck to safe guard our peace.
