Loyola University newspaper has issued an apology in the wake of the murder of freshman Sheridan Gorman...ostensibly to her accused murderer. The Phoenix was sorry for calling Jose Medina-Medina an "illegal immigrant" instead of a "Rogers Park Resident"...thecollegefix.com/loyola-newspap…

“I trusted in Him not just in the good, but in the bad [this season]. I understand that suffering is good for us, as followers of Jesus. I’m taking that into my next route in [pastoral] ministry - Just leading people by example, as a servant, like Jesus was.” - High Point Guard Chase Johnston after their loss vs Arkansas Johnston was wearing a “Jesus Wins” shirt too 👏

A father told his daughter, "Congrats on your graduation. I bought you a car a while back. I want you to have it now." Before I give it to you, take it to a car dealer in the city and sell it. See how much they offer.” The girl came back to her father & said: "They offered me $10,000 dollars because it looks very old" Father said: "Ok, now take it to the pawn shop". The girl returns to her father & said: "The pawn shop offered $1,000 dollars because it's a very old car & a lot of work done". The father told her to join a passionate car club with experts & show them the car. The girl drove to the passionate car club. She returned to her father after a few hours & told him, “Some people in the club offered me $100k because its a rare car that's in good condition.” Then the father said, "I wanted to let you know that you are not worth anything if you are not in the right place. If you are not appreciated, do not be angry, that means you are in the wrong place. Don't stay in a place where no one sees your value ." The moral of the story : Know your worth and know where you are valued. A diamond doesn't shine on the bottom of a cave.

Japanese actor Hiroyuki Sanada spoke about the contradictions of human nature: “Some people dream of having a swimming pool at home, while those who have one hardly ever use it. Those who have lost a loved one feel a profound sense of loss, while others often complain about their living relatives. Those without a partner long for one, while those who have one often don't appreciate it. The hungry would give anything for a meal, while the satiated complain about the taste of their food. Those without a car dream of owning one, while those who have a car are always looking for a better one.” The key to happiness is gratitude: truly seeing and appreciating what we already have, and understanding that somewhere, someone would give anything for what we take for granted.

High Point G Chase Johnston hit the game-winning bucket in their upset win vs Wisconsin with Acts 20:24 on his shoe. “But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.” Acts 20:24 The broadcaster falsely stated the Bible verse was about The Parable of The Lost Sheep, & tried to relate it to the game, but who cares, I’ll take as much Bible and Jesus in the game as possible 👍🏼

Sports make a great game - but a terrible God. Listen carefully if you’re an athlete… One day the season will end. One day the career will end. One day the applause will stop. If your identity is in the game, you’ll feel lost when the game is gone. But if your identity is in God, the game simply becomes a platform. Sports are meant to be played. They were never meant to be worshipped. Train hard. Compete with excellence. Honor God with your effort. But never forget: Your purpose is bigger than your performance. “You shall have no other gods before me.” {Exodus 20:3}

Bruce Pearl’s heel turn has been incredible. Literally took Auburn to the Final Four last year. Best coach in school history. “Retires” to give his son an undeserved opportunity. Doesn’t even end up running for senate. Says multiple idiotic things on TV. Brutal.

Every day at 7PM, taps is played over the loudspeakers at Dallas National Cemetery, just beyond the outfield wall at DBU During every gameday at 7, they pause to honor the fallen troops buried just beyond the wall One of the best traditions in sports
