@Rookadee The honey bee is responsible for the extinction of many native bees which is causing environmental issues. Regardless, debates about sweeteners is not an argument for the slaughterhouse.

@baselessassert Dude.... a species of fruit bats started dying out because vegans didn't want to eat honey.... the demand for agave nectar skyrocketed so more forests were cut down to grow more agave trees and then they were over harvested, leaving none left for the bats that needed them, too.

@lordst2 Animals are terrified in slaughterhouses. They can sense the death. But more importantly, It’s wrong to take a life unnecessarily. Killing a baby in their sleep is wrong because it robs them of their future life.

@baselessassert You chose the wrong picture for this message..... What he's about to do to that pig is painless and over in a split second while the pig has no idea what's coming.

@FigurelShane Do you see me advocating for killing meat eaters? I was once a meat eater and a vegan persuaded me. You are the one who kills others so you are projecting that onto vegans. We use our words to persuade, not violence.

@baselessassert So per your logic us wiping out native Americans was justified? Because they weren't good people for kill8ng animals? Ok cool.

@Mucculenc3 @Canadiangonxud I was a survivalist hunter who spent a month at a time in the remote wilderness. I never found killing an animal fun. People who do have more in common with a sociopath. Killing is a solemn and sad thing. Taking a life is not fun.

@baselessassert @Canadiangonxud Those kills aren't going to waste. They have fun and get a picture because it's an interesting and fun experience. Deer hunters are more in tune with nature than you ever will be

@Hydropontiac What if we started breeding whales for their spinal fluid or whatever? That makes it ok? It’s just wrong to sustainably hunt wild whales? I don’t understand the logic.

@baselessassert I don’t think either is moral but an important nuance to note is that we’ve selectively bred cows as livestock for over 1000s of years There’s no argument with regards to the value of life here, instead establishing industrial boundaries I’d eat beef but not touch human meat

@baselessassert Reread my comment, I said my argument is that both plants and animals are alive, not sentient or conscious. It's hard to have a debate with someone who doesn't have reading comprehension.

@WCyborg2 It’s a reflex. An unconscious unfeeling person still has reflexes. But I’m less interested in explaining why it’s unlikely plants are sentient. You believe they are. I want to know how that affects your treatment of plants? Do you kill them humanely?

@WCyborg2 You have to be sentient to feel. If it were proven that plant felt then we’d have to have plant cruelty laws like we do for animals. Do you support plant cruelty laws?

@baselessassert They do feel, that's been proven. You should do a bit more research on plants before jumping on the vegan band wagon. My argument is plants and animals are both living, so eat a hamburger. We are omnivores and it's ok to eat meat.

@WCyborg2 It’s not animal bias to say the brain is a much more complex structure than anything in a plant. Consciousness is a very weird phenomenon that is t actually needed for life. It seems to be an emergent property from brains. If you want to believe plants feel you can.

@baselessassert Do you think we would understand plants more if we were flora based organisms? Just because we think we understand the world doesn't mean we can't be wrong. Plants are living organisms. They reproduce, respond to their environment, heal when injured, and even respond to music.

@towerznrcs @donutofninja @tsuteyxo @wavreya Just using it as an opportunity to understand the meat eating mind better. I’m fascinated how yall decide when it’s ok to kill an animal. For yummy bacon? Yes! To extend human life? No!
