JJ Redick's defensive strategy completely locked up KD in the 2nd half. Here's how they should've handled it, with link to full breakdown in 🧵👇

@CoachLok @NothingButNet44 Well.... by rule in college, it would be a travel. But not one bats an eye at this footwork which is why they should just add it to the rulebook for college and HS

@3cbPerformance It's kinda crazy how long it took for us to take this from tennis and apply it to the basketball court. Wish I had it when I was playing

@bballbreakdown Because we see the call in reverse a lot where the defender will push a player who is setting the screen to get a quick switch and it’s called a foul. Makes sense to call it both ways if the offensive player pushes or holds you to get a screen.

I agree with KD. I see Smart pulling KD into him, and then falling backwards to make it seem like Durant pushed him. It's an old vet trick.

@bballbreakdown if smart made contact first then I could see the point your making but KD pushed first so it was the right call

@bballbreakdown KD pushing smart into the screener is the foul that happens first, but it wouldn’t get called if smart doesn’t sell it by grabbing him while he’s falling over.

@bballbreakdown Double dribble is a much bigger problem than traveling and carrying put together; it’s not even a thing anymore.

Dear Lord this was an amazing LeBron catch and dunk. Pay attention to the footwork on the backdoor cut. He lifts both feet off the floor and splits to utilize ground reaction forces to explode past his man to the hoop. Learn this footwork.

Hard to believe after all the double teaming on Monday that they'd catch KD by surprise but here we are. Amen Ws correctly cutting to the top of key for the pressure release, too

Watch how Amen finishes off two. It's a stride stop left-right with a right hand finish. Some coaches think playing off 2 feet is slower than jumping off 1 foot. Here's proof that it's just as fast, just as explosive, better balance and better power

Ok. So I clicked on the live game, DirecTV stream asked if I wanted to watch the recorded version of this and I said yeah. It started playing Monday's game. I literally thought I had lost my fricking mind 😂

So either there's a glitch in the matrix or I've seen this play before. Did this exact same thing happen on Monday??? I swear I saw LeBron leave Amen on the baseline like this and it led to a dunk... 🤔
