Another top talent leaves Germany before they turn 20. No ill will towards Brentford, who are run spectacularly well, but it's a sad state of affairs when the Bees can pay a fee that would be a club record for 16/18 Bundesliga sides. Can only hope Said El Mala thrives in EPL.

@yellowsqurdpod Brentford did the opposite. Closed the academy for a few years and focused purely on the b team. The idea was to pick up u21s dropped from other academies who had potential. Play fixtures all over Europe and train them to be fighting for a 1st team squad place or loan.

So, what do we make of this? On one hand there is logic in this - what is the value in our u21s playing academy football when they could be out on loan learning the pro game. Brentford did a similar thing. Hard not to look at this as a cost saving measure though… #WatfordFC

@1889GT Brentford never got give their ground a send off due to covid. All about him. This was our biggest PL game. Like his abject performance (not his first shit one in a Bees shirt) he did not have a clue about the significance and history he could have made for Brentford

@brentford_daily Henderson is too slow (especially if partnered with Janelt). Passes backwards and sidewards. Points and has one spin and lob over the defence. Really underwhelming. Yes he has experience but the lack of depth in DM has cost us this season. Should never start a game for the Bees.

@Proudy31589 He has been average for the whole season. Too slow and always passing backwards and sideways. Our best form was when he benched or injured. He was good a few seasons back. Awful now and so we should not act like a small club and be grateful. Last season we had a quality DM.

@ged0407 @davidlynchlfc Brentford have had a really good season, but yesterday really showed their limitations. When we kept the ball & stopped them from breaking & prevented them from set pieces, there was nothing doing. We shouldn’t have allowed the game to be as close as it was really.

Another thing from yesterday and it was not just at Anfield. Stop with this absolute nonsense of guards of honour for substitutions. Especially when teams have a game to win.

In the last 13 games since going 7th; 2 wins 8 draws 3 defeats Throwing away a 2 goal lead vs Wolves Conceding a last minute goal to Everton 2 sloppy goals vs Palace Last minute save vs Fulham We had it in the grasp of our hands and threw it away unfortunately. We need a big summer I think, bodies in and out and next year we really push.
