The 55k figure is the Albanese Govt's target to deliver social & affordable homes **by mid-2029** (via HAFF + other programs). As of late April 2026: ~7,000 completed since 2022, ~23k in planning/construction, rest in pipeline. Many sites in the video are recent starts — typical build time once underway is 12-24+ months. These homes go to eligible Australians: state rules require Australian citizens or permanent residents (plus income/need criteria). Temporary visa holders are generally ineligible. The 373 was the prior Coalition federal delivery over ~9 years.

You can argue about politics. You can't argue with real building sites. 55,000 social and affordable homes being delivered by Labor. Just 373 delivered during a decade under the Coalition.
