Grassley, the Judiciary chairman, tells me he'll recommend to Trump that Mike Lee or Ted Cruz replace Samuel Alito, should he retire: "I hope he doesn't retire ... but if he does retire, I'm going to suggest that either Lee or Cruz be put on the Supreme Court."
David Sivak@DISivak

Thune tells me Senate Rs are prepared to move a nominee to replace Samuel Alito on the Supreme Court before the midterm elections should he choose to retire in the coming weeks: “That's a contingency I think around here you always have to be prepared for. And if that were to happen, yes, we would be prepared to confirm.”

So far, Vance’s foreign policy record is yelling at Zelensky for not thanking Trump enough, campaigning for AfD in Germany and Orban in Hungary, getting rejected by the Pope on his invite to the US, and failing in the Iran negotiations.

@TomTiffanyWI Of course it would make a difference. It’s a handout to people for just one job. Why don’t the rest of us get these tax breaks?

Enjoyed spending time at the Machine Shed Restaurant in Pewaukee. While I was there, I met a waitress who told me what a difference it would make if she could keep more of her hard-earned tips. That’s why, as governor, I’ll eliminate state income taxes on tips and overtime.

One of the worst Obama-era trends is how every local urban bookstore turned into the same "Democrat Party gift shop and I guess we've got some books too" situation

@TomTiffanyWI @GovEvers Just making the schools better would be a much better plan than this handout to private schools and scammers.

Only 31% of Wisconsin 4th graders are proficient in reading. @GovEvers vetoed AB 602, which would have given working families scholarships for tutoring, special education services, summer school, and more. As governor, I’ll make sure every child has the tools to succeed.

@JudLounsbury Elon Musk campaign funding = tv advertising Tv advertising is less targeted, so it raises awareness of both candidates for all voters. An ad saying “Susan Crawford is a liberal monster” reminds about as many people people to vote for Susan Crawford as to vote against her.

Crazy: Chris Taylor's vote total wouldn't have been good enough to win two out of the last three Wisconsin Supreme Court races... yet she won by 20 points. Why? Conservatives stayed home in unprecedented modern history.

53m people signed up for the NYT account which has never had much "voice" as opposed to some of its writers. That's because they were using Twiiter as a news feed with the on-platform discussion as a side course. Now that use case is broken. Few of the 53m even see their tweets.

@ScottWalker I live in Wisconsin. I gave $100 to Chris Taylor because I’m tired of the right wing maniacs in our state. So yeah, glad to hear my money helps.

Money. For those searching for answers in the Wisconsin Supreme Court race. The answer is money. According to the reports filed on March 31, 2026, the liberal raised more than $6.1 million while the conservative raises about $900,000. No one can overcome that advantage in a swing state. Looking ahead to November, conservatives have to figure out how to inspire donors - big and small a like - to get behind Tom Tiffany’s campaign. Winning in Wisconsin requires a strong message, manpower, and money. Right or wrong, if you don’t have enough money, the message and manpower doesn’t matter.

With 85% of the vote in, the only question on @ChrisTaylorWI's victory is whether she'll top the 59.7% that then-Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson won in '09. Taylor is currently at 59.9%.

This is a victory for the United States that President Trump and our incredible military made happen. From the very beginning of Operation Epic Fury, President Trump estimated this would be a 4-6 week operation. Thanks to the unbelievable capabilities of our warriors, we have achieved and exceeded our core military objectives in 38 days. More on that tomorrow morning from @SecWar and Chairman Caine! The success of our military created maximum leverage, allowing President Trump and the team to engage in tough negotiations that have now created an opening for a diplomatic solution and long-term peace. Additionally, President Trump got the Strait of Hormuz reopened. Never underestimate President Trump’s ability to successfully advance America’s interests and broker peace.
