@jaosef was a product guy trapped in an infra builder's timeline. 8 years ago we set out to build compelling blockchain products - but the technology to make them possible didn't exist. We invented new proof systems, created a programming language, and built an entire encrypted network from scratch. Everyone in crypto talks about privacy. We built it: genuine end-to-end encrypted transactions on a public, decentralized ledger. Now Joe gets to do what he's always done best: build products people actually want to use.

GLP-1 drugs are the ultimate validation of the techno-solutionist approach to society's most challenging problems. The obesity crisis seemed liked it would just get worse and worse forever. Scolding from public health officials didn't work. Proposals to completely overhaul our food systems were dead on arrival. Instead, we invented a weekly shot (based on Gila monster venom!) that fixes obesity directly. And now, thanks to the economic incentives in our biomedical industry, we have follow-on drugs that will be cheaper, even more effective, and easier to administer (by taking a pill instead of a shot). Policymakers should be focused on figuring out how we can get more breakthrough drugs like GLP-1s (and faster). They also should think hard about which slopulist ideas might inadvertently kill the goose that lays the golden eggs.

It’s amazing what a well-executed vision for a community golf course can become. The Park strived to be a gathering place for golfers and families. Here it is at 6:15 on a Wednesday night. This is an example of what public golf can be for a community.

The internet does not relay on intermediaries for strong privacy. The internet has SSL. Privacy via cryptography. Private execution via an intermediary is not private. The intermediary can see every single thing. You just invented a worse SQL database but called it private execution on a blockchain. Privacy on blockchains requires cryptography. Anything else is either not a distributed blockchain or not private.
