@robinsonishyde Editor here. On the flip side I got a pilot that was 75 pages and is cutting at 90 minutes. Lots of dialogue heavy scenes, actors talking slowly. Totally depends on a lot of factors.

Editor of feature I directed said despite us shooting 83 pages the movie is currently cutting together at 60 minutes flat. So…I think we need to add scenes. Like how??? Was I too efficient?!

@mattshumer_ Just the other day I asked Chat to take a PDF with a list of itemized timecodes and turn it into a CSV for me. It got most of them wrong. I’m sure it’s great though, I love that you let it write entire programs for you while you get coffee. Maybe I’m using it wrong?

@LukeBarnett LA based editor, use Frame daily across multiple teams, some still on v3 holding on for dear life before February. Big on sharing my thoughts with the Frame/Adobe team fairly often, very active on forums.

Random. Do I know any designers/artists who have used Frame.io for sharing work with clients and such? Bonus points if you're LA based.

@editblog i was a big pusher for premiere to import entire structures, including empty folders, which had been removed for several years. i’m glad it is back but i agree that it should also recognize common camera cards and deal with bringing in footage only in those cases

@dnl_fig if you want more dynamic text boxes that have more control just make a text layer, don’t use a subtitle track. the disadvantage there is not being able to produce SRT files if needed

@dnl_fig with subtitles you shouldn’t be changing the scale or position really. they should all be at the same spot except for where they need to move to avoid other text. so that’s actually how the subtitle boxes are meant to work.

Can someone help me out with this? Generated subtitles in Premiere Pro always gives it this border that I don't know how to change the size of every time, I want it to fit the text exactly and not have as much space as it does right now. What can I do?

@brianlevin83 Yea I do that sometimes. Other time I lay a title or adjustment layer over the top and group it.

The first video editing application NLE creator gives us the ability to group a batch of clips together on the timeline with a VISUAL INDICATOR they've been grouped together is going to be giving us something unique that no one else has. #postchat

@Frame_io I’ve submitted countless feature requests, a few have been implemented, but many have not. The big thing right now is that your Premiere integration stinks and is missing crucial features like the ability to relink a sequence to a different asset or upload markers as comments.

@ViewerAnon this is inherently a good thing as a show this huge will mean Adobe will gain valuable insight into how to adapt to bigger productions for the future. pitting adobe vs avid is a pointless argument, whatever gets the job done, seems to me they got it done real good.

One of my favorite BTS stories about Beast Games is that he thought his YouTube crew should have creative control, but they didn’t know how to use Avid editing software. So they cut this massive show with thousands of cameras in Adobe Premiere.

@editblog You never know the quality of the template you are going to get from the thumbnail, how adaptable it’ll be to your needs. Often templates are not built with the end user in mind.

come on X, surely editors out there have an opinion on the time suck that is stock graphics templates. Has TwitterX's reach really fallen that much unless you pay to be verified?
Scott Simmons@editblog

Hello #postchat friends I'm working on a new The Angry Editor blog post, this time about the massive time suck it can be to search stock & template sites for the perfect graphics template. It's the new music search black hole. What say you? Any thoughts or stories? Am I wrong?

@chrisfelcker @aryanagxl @valentinavee Spielberg is considered one of the best camera operators in all of cinema, and Jan de Bont was a DoP before he directed Speed and Twister. Michael Bay regularly operates a camera during action scenes. Great directors know how to hold a camera. What do you think cinema is?

Question for my feature film editors out there ... what's the name for a selects reel (that is just only the good selects) where you just string out all the lines or moments back to back to back in the timeline, cutting slates, dead air etc. Doesn't that have a special name?

@editblog This job actually reposted, the first time it was more like 75k. This is actually probably one of the more legit jobs on there, problem is they want a San Fran local (or relocate) to be full time salaried. The 0 hours probably just to skirt the Mandy system requirements.

@nickdeckerdevs How old is your son and does he want to participate in the YouTube channel with you in some capacity? If so, then it might be helpful to have him edit your videos. If you need a trainer for that I can do private lessons. Teach a man to fish.

I’m looking for a youtube video editor. My son wants me to make YouTube videos for react and gaming content. He wants me to magically make this happen. I don’t have time to edit videos. I don’t even have time to make these videos. I need something on the inexpensive side.

@jorenkandel Eleven Labs speech to speech is great when you need a lot of voices such as for a crowd where the dialogue needs to be slightly recognizable specific to the story. Record my own voice saying the lines then generate various AI voices on top of it. Only ever for background audio.

I have a question for you. Can you let me know: what AI tools are you currently using for ACTUAL motion design/vfx production work. Not pre-production, but in actual production pipelines. I'm coming up with a little AI post for what's production ready. Let me know!
