Fran Lebowitz on Trump: “This person who is a pipsqueak of a person. He’s not a person. He’s not even a squirrel. And yet he affects the whole world. A squirrel would be a much better president. If he ran against a squirrel, I would vote for the squirrel”

So last night was all about getting his damn Ballroom! Why did Karoline Leavitt’s husband tell Fox News to stay safe right before the shots were fired and why did Karoline talked about shots being fired in a pre interview! Why did SS move J.D Vance and leave Trump on stage.FAKE

Trump has called me an "election stealing lawyer," a "radical" and a "bad person." He has posted that I am "scared" and "should be." His FBI director said I am "the enemy of the Republican Party." I won't stop speaking out against the threat Trump poses to democracy. Period.

I’m listening to seasoned reporters talk about how frightened they were during the shooting at the White House Correspondents Dinner last night and imagining how much worse it is for America’s children. If there’s ever been a time to pass sensible gun control laws, it’s now.

Melissa Hortman was killed by a Trump supporter. The first person to allegedly take a shot at Trump was a registered Republican. Every study shows more political violence from the right than the left. But sure, other than that, great tweet, totally factual and not cynical BS.
Matt Walsh@MattWalshBlog

Leftists have tried to kill the president three times now. They killed Charlie. They've shot up churches and Christian schools and rioted in the streets. They are the party of terrorism. Political violence comes from one side. How much longer will we allow these people to wage war on the country?

@brigblake He placed a disclaimer on every platform, he said. They apparently wanted a spoken disclaimer every 15 minutes or so during his podcasts.

For all the Mormons guffawing over this, let me break this cult-like behavior down for you: 1. “Mormon Stories” has existed for ~20 years. If it was genuinely confusing people about affiliation, that would’ve surfaced long ago. It didn’t. 2. The host is a publicly excommunicated, well-known critic. No reasonable listener thinks this is an official LDS product. 3. Show me the confusion. Not hypotheticals, but actual people who believed this podcast was run by the church. That evidence doesn’t seem to exist. 4. The branding argument is weak. Sharing a general color palette or modern app aesthetic isn’t the same as impersonating a logo or claiming endorsement. 5. Timing matters. Decades of coexistence, then suddenly it’s a legal issue? That looks a lot more like selective enforcement than genuine concern. 6. Trademark law is supposed to prevent real, evident brand confusion, not give powerful institutions a tool to squeeze critics. 7. And yes, people are going to notice the pattern: When a religious organization turns to expensive litigation against a critic over something this thin, it's simply the same playbook groups like Scientology became infamous for. You can call it “brand protection” if you want. But we know strong-arm cult tactics when we see them.

How about instead of suing John Dehlin, the Mormon Church actually just talks to him? Maybe an Apostle could go on Mormon Stories. Doesn't that sound nice?

The #LDS Church will excommunicate transgender members, scholars who speak truth to power, and social workers who share honest information on podcasts but retains members who commit fraud, abuse spouses, & disparage #LGBTQ members.

@stackerco Maybe you should ask why the podcast wouldn’t proudly announce that they are not affiliated with the church.

The Mormon Stories lawsuit is just one more part of a pattern showing that when the Church is criticized, exposed, investigated, sued, or challenged … the Church almost never shows accountability and instead just attacks. The Church is righteous and everyone else is the problem. Mormon Stories uses the word “Mormon” (even though the church doesn’t use it anymore)? Well, the critic is the problem and is trying to ghost people into thinking they are the church. John Dehlin speaks openly about faith crises? The apostate is the problem let’s excommunicate him and the years later let’s find a way to sue him. The September Six raised hard questions? The intellectuals and feminists were the problem, but let’s admit to the historical issues after anyway. Sam Young pushed for safer bishop interviews with children? The activist was the problem so let’s excommunicate him and then change the policy anyway. The SEC found the Church used shell companies to hide the size of its investment portfolio? The government and the lawyers were the problem. Abuse victims and journalists expose failures in Church systems? The victims, lawyers, and media are the problem. Historians point out contradictions? The historians are anti-Mormon. Former members tell their stories? They are bitter, deceived, lazy learners, or enemies of truth. No matter what happens, the conclusion is already known. The Church cannot be wrong. It can only be misunderstood, persecuted, or attacked. And what are members trained to do? Defend it, but not because they have examined every issue, but because they have covenanted in the temple to give everything they have to the Church to build up the kingdom. To not speak ill of Church leaders. They have been taught that loyalty to the Church is loyalty to God. So of course many members experience it as an attack on righteousness and God himself, so of course the Church almost never has accountability. Dallin H Oaks even said the Church does not need to apologize. But of course it doesn’t when the members will defend every action it takes anyway (outside of a comedic post about a dude who said his wife is the breadwinner 😆) I’m crashing out today, not just because of Mormon Stories but because of the long history of this institutional culture where the Church is always the victim, the critic is always the villain, and loyalty is more important than ethics, mortals or truth. The Mormon Stories lawsuit just pushed me over the edge.

It has all happened so fast. Opinion has turned hard against Trump and Netanyahu; Israel is no longer the victim but the perpetrator; the United States has gone from bedrock of the world order to rogue state. And Pope Leo has overnight become guardian of humanity’s conscience.

GOOD NEWS: The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office states that the three people who assaulted me yesterday, will be CHARGED. Here’s the footage of Paige Ostroushko, one of the three, being arrested after attacking me. She immediately runs from the police and pretends to act shocked as to why she’s being detained. Thank you to @BreannaMorello for being so on top of this and thank you to the Sheriff's department who ended up having to drive me to safety yesterday due to the violence of the mob. Am looking forward to seeing these charges all the way through.

When someone tortures two elderly ladies for hours, rapes them with a glass bottle, cuts off some body parts and then uses their blood to write the words "Kill the Boer" on the wall, please don't tell us it's just "normal crime" or that they were simply killed for being isolated.
