Hawks assistant coach Ronald Nored is the top target for Butler’s new head coaching vacancy following Thad Matta’s retirement today. After playing for Butler under Brad Stevens and making two national championship games, Nored now has over a decade of NBA coaching experience.

I wish the protections would have been stronger But I will say that if the Pacers landed in the 5-9 range I feel like they would have looked to trade the pick anyway And they keep the flexibility to trade other picks on the near future if it does land there So it makes more sense than it may seem Even though it feels risky in the surface
