Periodic reminder that setting the Alaris pump at 999/hr is not a fluid bolus. At that rate, it takes 30 mins to give 500 mL. (This is not about whose fault it is, just about what a bolus actually means & need for clarification).

@Iheartrescuedog @brucejuice18 I can assure you, the team he saw does not balance bill. Also, following the No Surprises Act signed in 2021 it is illegal for other air ambulance operators to do. This does not apply to ground ambulance services.

Wondering what the diagnostic accuracy is of pre-hosp assessment of major trauma hemorrhage? Paper @TSACO_AAST doi.org/10.1136/tsaco-… Sens 70% Spec 94% Missed hemorrhage assoc w penetrating (OR 2.4) & abdominal (OR 4.0) injury Mortality 3x higher if hemorrhage is missed! 1/2

And, I should add, that it’s not the intubation that you generally have to fear but all that potentially follows.

This includes our residents Know your options & train If it ain’t you, then who?

@momedic9019 @_JaceMullen Makes sense for adults. Neo/Pedi still use iNO for obvious reasons.

@_JaceMullen @calldaburd We switched from iNO to iEpo and have had zero issues.

@_JaceMullen @momedic9019 Totally right. An entire setup for Epo fits in a medium pouch. The NO systems are large but getting smaller, especially with the new cartridge systems We use iEpo a fair bit, and at times have transitioned from iNO to iEpo in adults for logistical reasons despite having both.

@momedic9019 I’ve never seen it in Colorado which is a bummer because we can’t transport iNO but I understand Epo is a little more transport friendly? I could be wrong but I know @calldaburd will line me out if I am
