@TaylorHoliday was the decision purely sports based? Like, you were good at baseball, and they thought holding you back would give you a better chance at college/pro?

25 years ago my parents were well ahead of the trend… Being held back a year between 8th and 9th grade completely changed the trajectory of my life. Our sports ecosystem is highly preferential to physical maturity at young ages. If puberty happens later it has real effect on perception, opportunity and confidence.

@MattiSchroder @iamkevinkrieg I like what you're doing at Kleio - but TW also pulls in Amazon data. So not exactly a replacement for TW (which I've been looking for)

Paddy | Shopify CRO & Websites
This is the exact framework behind 500+ landing pages and $100M+ in incremental revenue across 150+ DTC brands (and I’m giving it away for free). A majority of eCommerce brands right now are making 100s of ad creatives a month and spending $10k+/mo on paid traffic... Just to send them to a product page. This is why your clicks look good, but conversions are lagging behind. Because cold traffic NEEDS warming first. And the only way to do that... Is with a proper funnel. Which is exactly what I’ve mapped out here for you. This slide deck has the exact full funnel strategy we use for all of our 7-9 figure brands. Inside you’ll find: • Our research-first CRO process (analysis, ideation, experimentation) • The hero section blueprint that hooks visitors in 5 seconds • Advertorial structures for the coldest traffic • How to use community screenshots and ad comments as conversion proof • Subscription offer frameworks that set expectations and reduce churn • Real examples from brands like Menerals, 8 Sheep Organics, and Natrava Once again, we’ve thoroughly tested all of this. It’s the exact playbook behind well over 150+ brand optimizations. And if you can implement this, there’s room to add an extra 5-7 figures/mo to your revenue. (with out having to spend another dime on ads) Just comment "CRO" I’ll send it over ASAP. (must be following)

Roman Khan - Founder of Peak 21. We acquire brands
Just wrapped call w/ founder who wanted me to invest in his D2C business. I gave him different advice and a potential solution that's way cheaper (at bottom) Business owns him, not vice versa. 2025A: $17M rev, negative EBIT 2026F: $30M rev, <5% EBIT Key stats: - 21 day production lead times - Terms: 30% deposit, 20% on delivery, rest NET 30 - CM2 70% - High-cost debt (20%+ APR) - 120+ SKUs, no sell-through or per-SKU interest allocation - Factory solid (>30 mo relationship), unbeatable COGS-quality - Shipped from China to the consumer globally Recommendation: - Give factory 10% equity - Switch to consignment + EOD Friday payments for sold goods to remove cashflow constraints - Visit factory quarterly (4×/yr) I also shared how to prep 7 slides for supplier meeting. If post gets traction, I’ll recreate slides here as template. Just comment TRACTION. I need at least 100 lol I think he’ll succeed. He's smart and he is clearly a winner. Website for his category was 10 out of 10.

Shopify's shipping rates are so good. Especially on expedited. Makes my 3PL's pricing look terrible. Almost want to bring it back in-house.

What if @claudeai could get a second opinion before writing your code? I made Claude Code automatically consult OpenAI's Codex before approving any plan. Two competing models reviewing each other = way better output. Just updated the skill with @OpenAI 5.4 model. link below.

@youderian This is interesting... I'd be curious to see what CCC and/or supplier terms looks like across these brands. Wouldn't 100% affect the outcomes... if you're pushing 40% growth your misses on inventory purchases are bigger than if you're 10-20%, which eats up more cash

Extracting capital from a fast growing eCom business is nearly impossible. But there's a sweet spot where it does make sense. I surveyed 200+ store owners to figure out where. Here's what I found: The magic growth range is 10-20% annual revenue growth. Half of store owners I surveyed growing 10-20% are able to pull money out. Every other growth bracket? Way less. Why is 10-20% the magic number for distributing capital? Because you're not bleeding cash to fund explosive growth. The business is often mature enough to generate excess. Hypergrowth owners growing 60%+ top line? They look financially identical to sub-$1M businesses when it comes to extraction. Both are pouring everything back in. One by choice, one by necessity. The $1M revenue threshold matters too. Below it, less than 10% of owners are taking anything out. You're still building the machine. That's expected. Once you cross $1M and settle into moderate growth, the window opens. And it widens fast as you scale. At $5M-$25M growing rev 10-20%, three out of four owners are extracting capital. The other thing most people underestimate: margins. Below 5% net profit margin, less than a 1-in-5 chance of pulling money out. At 10-15% margins, that jumps to better than 1-in-2. So the real question isn't "should I extract capital?" It's "am I in the zone where I can?"

Has anyone built the Judgeme version of Triple Whale yet? We pay over $1K/mo for triple whale (10-20x a claude subscription), it should really be ~$25-50/month. Only features we need: - Daily PnL dashboard + all Shopify analytics - Integrate ad and sales channels - Integrate subscription data - Slack/email reports - LTV charts That's it, don't need any of the AI or agent stuff, that's all done inside of Claude. Just be a nice looking API wrapper for shopify data and ad channel data and price yourself appropriately. Hopefully a cracked software builder in ecom can do this, there are thousands of stores waiting to churn legacy expensive saas and sign up.

@ShinghiD @dtcprophet yo! we're launching a sister supplement brand to Harkla. when do you think this will have ad data / TikTok shops data? does currently seem like the best option for an Amazon + Shopify supplement brand (which I know you are, so makes sense).

you can now talk to award flight data from Claude connected awardtravelfinder as an MCP server. ask Claude things like: "find me business class availability LHR to JFK in march" "what's the cheapest month to fly BA to new york" "how many avios do i need for tokyo" it searches real-time availability across airlines and gives you actual seat counts mcp.awardtravelfinder.com

VCs just bet $16M that you are lazy enough to break the law. Arcads just raised a massive $16M Seed round. You have seen it all over your feed. The pitch is seductive: "No more expensive UGC creators. Type a script, get a video of a human saying it." It’s impressive tech. The avatars are indistinguishable from reality. But before you fire your content team (or agency) and replace them with AI avatars, read the FTC’s new "Final Rule on Consumer Reviews" (16 CFR Part 465). The trap is in the script. If you type: "This product changed my life" into an AI generator... And the "person" saying it does not exist... And they never used your product... You just committed a federal violation. The Math of Liability: Cost of Arcads Subscription: ~$100/mo FTC Fine per Violation: Up to $51,744. If you generate 100 fake testimonials, you are sitting on a $5M liability. The Safe Path: Use AI actors for announcements, explainers, or skits. Never, ever use them for testimonials or personal experience claims. "I think this brand is cool" = Marketing. "I lost 10 lbs using this" = Fraud. If you thought the ambulance chasing on GDPR and ADA compliance was bad... this is going to be a whole different level.

@nateliason @gtmom We live half a block from a park. I keep thinking about at what age my son can go there on his own (or at least head there, and we follow up and meet him). Kinda seems like he'd be totally capable by 5. Maybe sometime during 4

When we started leaving our children home alone is actually one of the very few parenting things I almost don't discuss with anyone Will happily admit to epidural using, formula feeding, sleep training...but children home alone is one of the final "chill out about it" frontiers
Ivana Greco@IvanaDGreco

This is a very good essay by @KelseyTuoc on childhood independence. The fact that 1/3 of Americans think a child has to be a literal teenager before they can be left home alone for an hour is lunacy.

@DaveRekuc I get it every month once the statement is paid. Just verified. You're talking about the 4x bonus on ad spend, right? You cap out at $150k ad spend, but if you have an AMEX rep, they can usually get you multiple cards. You just gotta rotate them.

@caseyames When we looked at the Amex Gold Card it appeared to be a one time bonus not an annual bonus any more. Are we wrong, you're still getting it annually?
