When we found out that Netflix was going to release our series ‘The Root of the Game,’ this was the day I went back to each of the four clubs and communities we followed, to share the good news. This series belongs to these people who live and keep the culture of Várzea football alive every single day. To all the clubs of Várzea - but especially to MEC, Raça Ruim, Asa, and Milianos: I don’t have the words to thank you enough. You are an inspiration to everyone who loves this game. For more than 100 years, Várzea has been built by thousands of clubs like these. With almost no recognition or financial return, they’ve fought to keep football the sport of the people. Thank you, Netflix and Elisa Chalfon, for giving these communities this moment and the opportunity to share their culture with the world. They deserve all the success. From the streets of São Paulo, to the world. Thank you everyone who has supported their story 🇧🇷

Brazil 🇧🇷 plays in the World Cup today vs Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. The world sees the finished product. We wanted to tell the story of the roots. 'The Root of the Game' on Netflix is about the Várzea football culture inside the favelas that helped shape generations of Brazilian players. 🇧🇷

Our Netflix series 'The Root of the Game' is now available worldwide! Most Netflix productions are built with substantial budgets, large crews, and distribution already in place. This one wasn't. So here I wanted to share a little bit behind the actual origins and filming of this intense production, that is now available worldwide on Netflix. 👇🧵

I guess I don't have a ton of data. I've been running my main campaigns like this only since April. But my Min's were being obeyed, even with Cost Cap. It's hard to look back at the data, but every "test" ad set I launch would hit the min spend Then I'd lower the min over time as I move winners to the scaling ad set

You can run your entire ad account with one CBO. → Ad set 1: Historical winners with a normal cost cap → Ad set 2: Creative tests with min and max spend limits How the spend limits do the work. The min spend limit on ad set 2 forces Meta to deliver budget on your new tests instead of dumping everything into your proven winners. Without it, the new ads get scraps and never actually get tested. The max spend limit on ad set 2 stops an unproven ad from running away. New ads spike CPA for the first few days while they learn, so you don't want one eating your whole budget before it's earned it. As a test proves itself out, raise the max. Eventually remove it and let it scale freely. Then it graduates into your winners ad set. This works great for accounts under $100k/mo. → Simple structure → Forces spend into new creative → Scales winners automatically → Easy to manage

@DaveRekuc @benradack Min spend works with caps I launch my test ads as ad sets with a min spend, but same CC as the main historical winners

@benradack Are you saying the test ad set has min spend but no cost cap? Because I don’t believe min works with caps. Max does and is useful when using caps on new creative.

Here’s to the chaos, errrr, magic of raising boys 😂 But seriously, I love having 3 boys. Yeah they’re aggressive, yeah they yell, yeah they are wild and fight… but they’re also kind, take care of each other, pray with us, and give hugs. One thing I’ve learned about having 3 boys if you have to give them an outlet for their aggression. All boys have it and dads can actually help by being a part of their rough play. Wrestle, play tough, go hard—then bring it all back to care and love for each other. Balance the warrior and lover archetypes in equal measures. Most boys these days have trouble with that balance. They’re either shamed out of their warrior type and/or misunderstand their lover type. This is where dads are so big! Your sons need to see you being strong, tough, and capable while also tender, loving, and intentional (best shown to our wives). Here’s to the magic of boys 👏

Amazon Ads are a cancer. Search results no longer give customers what they want, the only innovation at Amazon is how much money they can squeeze. Let's say you want a baby gate for your baby and search "best baby gate" - The top 6 results are all sponsored ads which...

Is a 3PL a media company? Can be. This month, @HelloTidalwave launched a new service to clients called "Content Pass". We make professional behind the scenes content for your brand. Thesis: Give our brands another tool in the toolbelt to succeed on Facebook. They sell more stuff, we ship more stuff, we all win. Creative fatigue is higher than ever, and this style of content historically has worked well. If you use a 3PL, this style of content is either not possible, or prohibitively expensive. We charge $200/mo (now). Our upside is ... your ad pops off and I can ship thousands of incremental packages.

Announcing the most unexpected partnership you could imagine... @CommnThreadCo x @northbeam are joining forces. 6 years ago @MAustinHarrison approached me with the email in the attached image. It was a deal for Northbeam to takeover Statlas and become the embedded software product inside of CTC. At the time I didn't believe that attribution was the right path for us to pursue. Probably cost me tens of millions of dollars... Needless to say Northbeam has gone on to become a staple in the eCommerce industry. Trusted by thousands of merchants to guide their media decision making. I have had very public issues with MTA products, including Northbeam, over the years and I still do... BUT I have also watched them evolve their product into so much more. That movement has been in directions that I agree with and have shared vision around. Things like: Aligning optimization with attribution by passing data back to meta. First party tracking of customer identity to support in identify resolution for your acquisition Visibility of media impact beyond 7/28 days and now incrementality testing. All pieces of measurement that CTC believes are important to building a system of progressive truth. As our ideologies have converged our business models have moved in different directions. This is where the opportunity for partnership emerged. Northbeam has chosen, thoughtfully, to move up market where media complexity and dollar values allow for larger investments in measurement systems. That pursuit of the enterprise and pricing strategy left many 7 figure store owners without access to their technology. Meanwhile, CTC is actively engaged in figuring out how to bring enterprise level sophistication to the SMB market. Given our position as a service provider it allows us to provide the high level of care needed to deploy these tools to 7 figure store owners. With all this in context I am excited to announce that CTC is the EXCLUSIVE PROVIDER of Northbeam technology to 7 figure store owners. It will be included as part of our Global Accelerator program (Prophit Engine - 7) going forward. Stores as this level of revenue/spend often are too early to deploy incrementality testing in a way that would give them definitive results in reasonable timelines. So, to help our customers get the best possible POV on their media we will now be ingesting and displaying Northbeam data directly inside of Statlas. Enriching our data and presentation of impact to our customers. While this may not lead to the same personal financial riches as that equity offer all those years ago, I do believe it has the same potential to make a positive impact for the community. If you are a 7 figure store owner who has been interested in trying the product before, reach out and we can take you through how the partnership will work! Excited to share more about the partnership in the coming days and weeks.

Although I think this sounds great, I did this for 100+ days straight and never broke over 300 likes. Got a lot of good feedback from the people that did see though Maybe I was too early?

I interviewed all of the best creative strategists in the world. @binghott. @iamshackelford. @DenneyDara. @sourfraser. @MatthewGattozzi. @pkennedy93 @thedennis. @harrydelmege_. @heyitsalexP. (thank you so much guys, you're all the best) If you read this document you will be able to become, train, & hire the best advertiser/creative strategist in the world. I promise you that. Hiring and training creative strategists is one of the most expensive mistakes you can make if you get it wrong. So I asked the best in the world: what separates the ones who actually produce winners from everyone else. I wrote it all up in one doc. I put a lot of time into this and there literally 0 AI, just 14 pages of straight sauce. reply "STRAT" and I'll send it over.
