And there we have it. It’s clear that “if everyone doesn’t know about it, how is it good” . Folks like this believe that mass appeal inherently tell you the greatness of art. The cultural reasons why a game wins isn’t “just because it’s good”. Fans are finicky and inconsistent.

@mabujold @SASMeatMan Wilds is objectively the easiest game in the series (until TU hunts, which is why most people get walled by them really hard). The devs have literally said it was designed to be easier. It's not "you just used to be bad!!!" lmao

@SASMeatMan a lot of players remember the old games as being harder when they were just much worse at the game. There is skill bloat in the new gens but the game is generally the same difficulty wise. MH has never been a difficult series. It's not a cake walk either, but it's not difficult.

Guy who started in MH Worlds: "As a MH veteran this is how I feel about..." Guy who played 100 hours of a 3rd or 4th gen MH when they were 12 years old, and only progressed through 2 large monsters in low rank village:

MH fans piss me off: a mechanic being "optional" doesn't mean it can't warp the design of other elements(or that said elements weren't designed with the optional mechanic in mind) literally the series with multiple weapons where you can play the entire game with just your fav

Switch Skills. Do I need to even say why that's one of the best system they've added? Low chance for Wilds Ultimate to implement this but I have high hopes Portable 6th gonna expand upon that.
BannedGammoth@BannedDino

Are there any systems/mechanics you would like to see further experimented with? It doesn't matter which game/games. Are there any systems/mechanics from past games you would like to see in Wilds? How would you update/change them for Wilds?

Also, IG is my secondary, and I just wish it was one solid weapon instead of 4 entirely different weapons depending on the game you're playing.

The opposite as a (literal) lifelong lance main: I HATE how big, flashy moments were baked into its moveset (flashy finishers, offsets, etc). I want them gone asap lol Lance is a gnat in the monster's face 24/7. That's the hype moment. Built-in hype moments feel cheap for it.
BannedGammoth@BannedDino

Do you feel your favorite weapon (GS, SnS, Bowgun, etc) needs something more? What is your favorite and least favorite iteration of said weapon? Is there a weapon you want to use but have been hesitant about trying? Does it need something more/less to convince you?

@Hinahaii @mythra_lover It's bad in both games Do you think that people can't think both are bad?? World wasn't even mentioned because it's a conversation about Wilds. What's the association here lmao

Can someone legitimately tell me how is an optional feature in seikret being detrimental to the whole "hunting" the monster part because I genuinely cannot comprehend how people cant just not use it You can even hide the ui if you want to, run around and find the monster

@StudentLoansFF @envinyon I think the conclusion that they dont know how to do it is wrong. They may or may not know how to do it, but they're genuinely afraid that complex (or good, imo) itemization = casuals scared/mad. Iirc Yoshida said something along that line about 16 in particular back at release.

this game might have the most pointless rpg system I've ever seen same attack, endgame NG+ gear vs early game NG gear every individual gear upgrade is like a fraction of a percent increase in damage dealt or decrease in damage taken

Ignoring the fact that this isn't relevant to Crimson Desert whatsoever; Your average gamer loved that the modern AC games are built like this. The people saying it was meh like you or me were a minority online. Pretending everybody hated it is just making shit up lmao
Terminally Online Leftist 🥂@terminallyOL

it was like, five or six years ago, i wanna say when AC valhalla came out, that a game map like this would have been called "ubislop trash" and "junk to fill up an open world" so i'm just kind of confused as to why this is raising the bar and good now

"Reviving the past isn't worth sacrificing the present world that people love" is such a common, easy to understand thesis statement that's in so many stories And yet, somehow, people continue to completely ignore it lmao
Octorok Reviews@OctorokR

I'm seeing people argue in the replies of this post that Wind Waker Ganon is still pure evil - I disagree. The game clearly WANTS to frame him that way, but it fails horribly; Ganon's goal to restore Hyrule, his decision to spare Link's life after taking his Triforce of Courage, and the love he expresses for the bounty of Hyrule all paint him as morally grey at worst but honestly: kind of good at best. Had Ganon gotten his way, Hyrule would have been restored, the current age of anarchy would end, and the people of the Great Sea would once again prosper in verdant fields of green. But because King Daphnes got his hands on the Triforce instead, Hyrule was lost forever, and it would take hundreds of years for a new kingdom to be established in a far-off land. Think of all the many generations of Hylians who lived a life of hardship on the ocean during that time, and realize that every single one of them could have had a better life had Ganon got his wish to restore Hyrule. It can be a real boon for a story to give its villain some semblance of relatability and human motivations. But Wind Waker took this too far and made its version of Ganondorf so morally grey that he actually presented a better future than what the main protagonists were offering. So as hilarious as the below image may be: the fact that it actually applies to Wind Waker Ganon shows the weakness of that game's writing more succinctly than any 5-hour critique on the matter ever could.
