@ianpacemain I read elsewhere that the main AS archive is in Vienna; I haven’t verified. Still dreadful.

@cebjork Many people have suggsted it and we were reluctant (as it is another social media channel to manage). BUt we set up an account a few days ago - bsky.app/profile/graham…. It is in my own name, but I'll post about ethical publishing mainly. Just followed you over there

Since the beginning of Jan, our "number of followers has had it's ups and down. We get the occasional downturn, but the first half of this month has seen more days that usual when we have lost followers. We wonder if: 1) The large increase was due to a post that received > 500,000 impressions attracted a lot of followers, who then unfollowed a few days later? But the previous few days had also seen a downturn. 2) People are leaving X and when they do they "unfollow" us (perhaps automatically). 3) It is just a glitch and people are unfollowing us as they do not like what we post for some reason (and that is fine - that is what social media is all about). Let's see what the rest of November brings. But, as always, thanks to the people that do follow us.

You know you want it, a late night election reaction 🧵. First, Stephen Colbert with a solemn address to camera "'I'm so grateful to be with... with you people at home, because especially in times like this, what do we most want to be? Not alone. So thanks for being here."

On tietyllä tavalla ymmärrettävää Suomen poliittisen historian pohjalta, että osalla keskustelijoista on tarve korostaa kuinka tulisimme Trumpinkin kanssa toimeen. Hyssyttely ei saa peittää alleen realistista tilannekuvaa: Trumpin 2. kausi tulee poikkeamaan ensimmäisestä. 1/X

In med historiebruk. Bort med lyrik, dramatik och myter ur litteraturen. In med utanförskap, sexualitet och jämlikhet." Det var Skolverkets utgångsbud med kursplanerna för några år sedan." gp.se/ledare/varf%C3…

Benefits of music practice vary from person to person. In our newest study, we show that genetic differences in cognitive abilities play a role in why individuals might differentially benefit from practice, suggesting G x E interaction 🧬🎵 doi.org/10.1016/j.heli…

”Annoyance and irritation, though, are often taken as a sign that the concerns aren’t that big of a deal, that the arguments are mere quibbles that can be safely dismissed. Call this the eyeroll heuristic: if it’s preachy and annoying, it’s OK to ignore it.”👏 @evan_westra

”Terms like excellence,” the ACE authors advise, “are indicative of the way in which opera and music theatre still retains unhelpful hierarchies about what kinds of work are valued.” Instead, ”engage with the stories of the contemporary nation” (or else). theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
