My favorite collaborator Muriel and I will be performing a set during the Open House tomorrow in our recital hall! The recital is a collage featuring performers from across the music department. Starting at 9:30am, we will go on last and close out the performance around 10am.

ATHLETIC SUBSIDY PER STUDENT 💸 New FY23 per Sportico How much does EVERY STUDENT pay to subsidize the athletic dept? If you're paying college tuition, this is a chart you won't like: Here's how much money each kid is paying towards subsidizing the athletic dept. at FBS schools. Are you comfortable with the numbers below? I have no problem with subsidizing athletics (in fact, I strongly support it!), but some of these numbers are out of control, especially for schools focused on serving first generation and low income college students. IGNORE EXCUSES: Now, there are some nonsense budgetary bucket excuses that some school leaders like to fib to parents and regulators with, saying things like, "No! we use money from X, not from tuition" ...but that's hogwash, because if that money wasn't going towards subsidizing athletics, then they wouldn't have to charge you so much for tuition. (It ain't that complex, folks!) FOLLOW SPORTICO: The amazing folks from @Sportico track FBS disclosures and data better than anybody, btw, so make sure you're following them for updates as more schools disclose their FY23 data in the days to come.

My first completed piece ever was premiered here (2 violins, viola, clarinet, saxophone, and piano solo). It was an indescribable experience to hear my music brought to LIFE with such incredible energy - but more than anything, I will remeber the beautiful, generous people.

Brazil tour, August 2025 🇧🇷 a privilege to perform here one last time at the stunning Capela Santa Maria in Curitiba with so many wonderful artists and collaborators. I couldn’t even tell you how many pieces we premiered and student works we were able to workshop and improvise.
