In North Korean elections, you do not tick a box; you take a printed ballot with 1 name on it & drop it in a box in an open room. To vote No, you have to go to a separate secret booth & cross the name out with a red pen while being watched by security. These are people who are physically unable to reach the box. We are talking about citizens working on deep-sea fishing vessels, laborers in Siberian logging camps/those who died in the 48 hrs leading up to the vote but had not been processed out of the local registry yet.
