Twitter has been a hugely valuable resource for me to learn and network and it still has value. But the downsides, trolling, attacks etc grow and grow and I it's turning everyone off. If this keeps up, it will be dead in a year or so, just bots and trolls.

The quality of discourse on this platform is in rapid decline. There’s a whole section called “§7. Examination of Students for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy” in the Examination Regulations of the University of Oxford. Jaime’s biography says he has “an IQ of 137”…

@Damon_BPHR Is this for a local authority? My team and I ask for price breakdowns all the time - spending public money after all. You've already given a split between materials (with heat pump split out), parts & labour. If they're asking for more details, they don't know what they're doing.

Feel like I’ve been a little rude to a customer.. the job is costly one at £45k but he’s wanting a break down of every material on my quote for the plantroom installation, I’ve given the cost of the Hp but he’s wanting every item now and thinks I’m being unreasonable?

@miconm This reads like Monty Python's 'Dirty Fork' sketch, with a line of successively more senior people prostrating themselves over a blister. Except that it's someone's career. If I were in Education, I would be trying to find this individual to dissuade them packing it all in.

@ianwalker Speaking as a motorist myself, this doesn't go far enough. Now you've committed to making our car trips easier, surely it's time to look at strategically demolishing a few towns and cities here and there to open up new roads through our country and so keep traffic flowing?

This is important. If you have any Hawkstone cider at home, please please please check the cap. If it has the code L3160, e mail us at recall@hawkstone.co for help and advice. Do not handle the bottles unless you are wearing protective clothing and goggles.

@Ben_Scallan There's always been arsonists Ben, so what do you think makes their actions so much more impactful now?

@BBCJustinR Does the BBC have a Net Zero target? Is travel part of that target? Is there a clear decision-making process for deciding when travel is necessary? Was an assessment carried out regarding the additional value of local reporting versus the carbon impact? If yes to all of above, go

@CreativSam2 It's a wondrous thing. I'd hazard a guess to say that this one was planted by the franciscans though (or was very young when built around). I can't see a mature yew growing a trunk that tall and straight - other than doing so in order to catch the light from beyond the rooftops.

The Beautiful Tree Transforming This Abandoned Place Into A Secret Garden, Ireland. This is Muckross Abbey in Killarney. "Take the yew that grows in the cloisters of Muckross Abbey near Killarney. It’s always assumed that the tree was planted by the Franciscans when they built the abbey in 1448, giving it an age of over 550 years. It’s much more likely the abbey was built around a tree that was already mature and well-established, making this tree a lot older. There’s plenty of evidence that in earlier times ecclesiastical sites were chosen on the basis that an old yew tree grew there."

@charlie_crispy When at Uni, I lived in a house that a D.J. had previously rented. Various albums would arrive every week, we'd play everything once - knowing they'd be released in the following months. Imagine when we first played Bittersweet Symphony by the Verve! Absence of hype enhanced it!

Apparently The Blair Witch Project was released 24 years ago today. I was working at Loaded magazine at the time. Ages and ages before the film, the reviews editor pretended he’d been sent a DVD of some paranormal ‘found footage’. We watched it, absolutely shitting our pants, no idea what it was. That lot may not admit to it now, but they were all Extremely Scared. #blairwitch

@DrJonesWales I'm so sorry to read this, Rhys! Beyond the science (which was, obviously, outstanding), Mike had a hugely positive impact on the culture of Biosciences when i was there. He opened up a deep seam of knowledge, using tools of his own creation, and happily invited others to dig.

I am absolutely numb. My Professor, my Mentor, my Friend has passed away and the world has been robbed of the most brilliant mind. You stepped in a saved me when others walked away. You are the reason I enjoy the life I do today. Absolutely heartbroken. RIP
